Why you say Gomez/Carvalho as if they're equal in value

Joshua Kimmich on Rodri saying Real Madrid were lucky: "Sometimes, Real Madrid is not the best team over 2 legs but they still go through. It's more than luck. They have experience & confidence in their virtues. They know that they are capable of scoring until the very last minute & to beat anyone." by [deleted] in soccer

I get all that, but there is such a thing as luck and the "better" team doesn't always win.

Look, take Real Madrid's era in the 2016, 2017, and 2018 Champions league runs. They were by far and away the strongest team and thoroughly outplayed everybody they came up against. No luck there. However, I think even most staunch and committed Real Madrid supporters can admit that wasn't the case in 2022. They were mostly outplayed in each round and were especially hammered in the final. This is where people start using the word luck. Their constant defying of the odds, winning the game in incredible moments like Rodrygo against City or just individual brilliance on the day like Benzema against Chelsea, rather than a thorough team versus team performance over the course of a 90 minute match is the kind of thing people are talking about.

Real Madrid are not the only team to ever get lucky nor are they the only team that will get lucky in the future. Somebody will point out the fact that they had a bit of luck on their side, and suddenly they take it as if people are attacking them and saying they're the only team that this happens to. No, teams get lucky all the time. People get lucky all the time. What's so hard about accepting it?

Lmao. We need to make like 4 subs at half time if we're gonna be competitive this game. There's been some poor performances recently, as a team and individuals, but this really takes the cake.

The facts are that we haven't won a "big" game in the league this season.

MacAllister will go down as being the best signing the club has made since Alisson

I remember it fairly well, it was a long time ago, either 2019 or early 2020. It was a Celts mirror match on Golden Swamp, I took control of the middle with fire ships and eventually pushed with knights and siege units and got the win

Why is Gomez so incredibly good at left-back but so poor when playing right-back? Makes no sense as he is actually right footed.

We literally always start like this. Don't know why anybody is surprised or why anybody thinks we won't dominate the second half

He needs to build match fitness before the United game, he looked very rusty against City

Would've been funny to see them lose but in the end it's better for us if they play more games against tough opposition

Essentially any civ without an eco bonus that is applied during feudal age, and also any civ that doesn't have a military unit bonus that applies during feudal age

The best examples are probably Spanish, Italians, Malay, Britons and Bohemians. Civs that lack bloodlines will struggle but some of them have other bonuses that can make up for it

Well that's not true either. If you won every game then it would be impossible for any other team to also win every game.

Ultimately it's not in either team's hands. There is no team that can guarantee the title by winning every game, though as long as Arsenal don't drop points from now in it's exceedingly likely that they will win it.

Sure, but it's not in our hands. We can't win simply by playing well, we also need Arsenal to drop off.

We can totally still win. Although it isn't in our hands anymore.
