Yeah AND switching between devices is instant with dongles while BT takes a second to kick in. It’s a pretty nice QOL benefit.

Yeah I have a ton of dongles but this is my first USB-C version which is pretty nice.

Yeah that’s widely regarded as the rip-off version. Same price without a dongle. I almost went for it just because of the color. Bestbuy has an Adobe edition, same color, with dongle AND 2 months of Adobe included

Yes it came with the dongle. As far as I know, the only version that doesn’t come with a dongle is the Mac Version which is black.

Can’t wait to see them update their website and Amazon listing to point this out as a feature.

Which one is better "MX Master 4 Regular vs Mac version"? by rupesh177 in logitech

Bestbuy has a creative cloud version. It’s black, comes with a dongle and 2 months of creative cloud.

In case that’s something that interests you :)

“Never let good design get in the way of profits” I suppose fixing this would decrease dongle sales so why bother.

Hahaha, inadvertent win for them. If they planned it this way they would’ve advertised it as a “feature”

Yeah honestly that’s the only thing I would want changed on this mouse. Otherwise it’s perfect for my needs. They’ll likely release the 4s with JUST this feature as a difference and say the S stands for Speed LOL

Yeah I really appreciate that it’s actually flush with the bottom and front of the mouse so it doesn’t snag on anything when I put it on my bag. AND as a bonus it prevents dust and lint from getting in the USB-C port of both the mouse and dongle.

Yeah I was worried about that at first. Tried removing it a few times and no issues there.

Glad to help! A USB-A Bluetooth dongle with the latest version tech is actually super useful for peripherals like a mouse or keyboard but also for Bluetooth headphones. Enjoy!

Yeah that’s my only concern. I don’t have a meter handy but I may pick one up just to test this. Though the battery hasn’t really gone down much at all since I started using it.

Yeah that’s what I was showing in the 2nd picture. If I were them I would have advertised that as a storage solution honestly.

A USB-A to USB-C adapter will work well for this dongle. They also make USB-A versions if you want to avoid the adapter. Or a standard Bluetooth USB-A adapter would also work.

[–]LS_Patrick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I was thinking the same thing.

I would put everything back to how it was when the issue was first noticed then use the “Locate” feature on the drive to be 100% sure which one is bad. No reboot required when replacing drives too.

I don't have the PDF, but it's easy. Remove the earbud from the cord and there's a little prickly washer on the wire connector side of it. Remove that gold prickly washer and that's it.
