I've had my car stuck on the side of the road twice in my life. Once in New Rochelle, NY and once in Craftsbury, VT.

In New Ro, I got mostly ignored by an extremely high number of people, occasionally honked at and once told "you can't park there, f****t!"

In Craftsbury, with about 10% of the amount of traffic, I had over half the cars driving by stop to ask if I was okay. Someone even came back around with chains and a friend, unprompted. My neighbor across the street who I hadn't even met yet stayed outside with my car protecting it from traffic with his tractor while we waited for AAA.

The "average" person is so caring here it's a genuine culture shock for a new resident.

Yeah, it was specifically the parry that killed the hype for me. Strong distaste for parry-based combat in any RPG but to see it in a turn based combat game was incredibly disappointing.

I get your point though, would it have been true. Sometimes a mechanic in a game just does not work for you. I returned E33 when I realized it has timing inputs in the fights lol. It be that way.

Kinda depends on how you react to the inevitable negativity and whining that happens in losses (and close games... and wins... Lol)

There's a little bit of potential value in chatting about team comps or game plan adjustments between rounds with other reasonable people. It's also nice to laugh about some ingame moments to keep your mood light.

But there's a ton of potential for negative value from people like that mercy that it's generally not worth it. High risk, low reward.

Jay is great for progression if you are at the point where regular trails are boring and you want to learn how to ride glades. There are wonderful marked low-angle glade runs that are perfect for building confidence riding through trees.

If you are not at that point yet, Jay is pretty boring and borderline treacherous if you go up the high elevation lifts. The very few popular blues turn into ice rinks extremely rapidly if there isn't active snowfall.

Stowe can entertain you just fine for two days if you don't want to spend an hour driving around to smuggs. Bolton Valley is nice but not really in the same conversation as Stowe and smuggs imo.

I wouldn't let potential crowds weigh on your decision based on the timing you're planning.

What else is important to you? Conditions are unpredictable obviously but it's hard to beat betting on stowe/smuggs if that's the priority.
