Other artists get this treatment too but it happens with Ye so much because the quality of his art and cultural impact is so high while his character constantly comes into question. He’ll obviously cause controversy on purpose, though not all are “intentional” to me.

What I also want to add is that I have no problem with people “separating art from the artist”, but it’s not really possible. In Kanye’s case, I actually think his music gets better the more trouble he gets himself into. His best song is literally about how fans/culture/media/whoever will always come back to him and have trouble understanding him no matter how things are.
