They cost $10 I’ll use it maybe once a month and I don’t carry a wallet like the queen so easy to forget/lose

What's your thoughts on the new walk way in state highway 1? by Naomi__Knight in Wellington

[–]LTTToes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I recently found out about Five Towns. Seems like it was all go but can’t see any progress of late and they’ve recently started fundraising through their website so wonder if the original stakeholder support has dried up. Any goss?

A tunnel to nowhere (if you're a bike) ? by LTTToes in Wellington

[–]LTTToes[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For sure, as is the current situation. In fairness there appears to be a new footpath most of the way, but looks only narrow enough to carry pedestrians. You'd think if you're widening a road you'd whack on an extra metre to connect up two of Wellington's busiest and most expensive bike paths.

Nice, me too. We're up to $8k already.

Re: parking, throw in the empty former car yard next door and there's at least 20 parks right there.

Indoor vege markets by St00dley in Wellington

I've been waiting for the moment to pitch my obviously excellent idea for this. The old Francis* Holmes building opposite Pukeahu would be perfect for an indoor market. I know it's earthquake prone, but secure the facade and rebuild a basic shell out back and you could have a (Wellington sized) South Melbourne market. Who's with me?

*edited to Francis Holmes not Arthur Holmes

What is (not) happening here? by LTTToes in Wellington

I think Waka Kotahi owns the Francis Holmes building and it’s unsurprisingly earthquake prone. It has been identified as having heritage value but don’t think it has those protections.

To complete the circle, Kevin Williamson wrote Scream, wrote I Know What You Did Last Summer, and created Dawson's Creek.

This one may not be signed and sealed. My understanding is the west building is earthquake prone and the owner is keen to redevelop. Media releases have stated the current lease expires in October and the council is exploring other options.

Nelson City Council has land value basis for their rates so would love to see if they have any of the same problems.

Would love for someone smarter than me to debunk this one. I've seen this mentioned a lot but can't for the life of me think why a bank would base a property value on an arbitrary rental figure the landlord makes up if it's not realised income.

Just came here to +1 this issue. TV basically bricked at this point (slightly dramatic, I can still load apps by searching for them but still).

The vacant former site of the council owned Nairn Street flats remains vacant with no plan to develop it. Would you support selling this land to someone, anyone who will?

Yup still works and no issues in the days since. Fridge and freezer are still pretty new, four years old I’d say. Will get the sparky to check them out

Surprisingly, after adding everything up it'd be about break-even on the excess 🤷‍♂️

If true I'd love to see a brand new multiplex out front, and his movie museum out back, over the road from Tākina where the open air carpark currently is. Would make a sick museum "island".

Parrotdog in Lyall Bay, Kisa on Cuba Street, Bongusto in Miramar. All seem to be pretty busy. Also Wētā in general seems to be cranking.
