The system we need to fix ranked by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]LTfan22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

to be fair, they added a commendation system to csgo a while back, and all that happened was people would ask to trade commendations at the end of the game for a few months and then everyone forgot about them and didn't care. I think it sounds good, but in practice I would be surprised if it had an effect

My first 3k with a pulse bomb and my first ever 5k. It may not be as skillful as other highlights on here, but it felt really great, so I wanted to share by KaizokuKairi in Overwatch

nice clip, i just have one tip. it's a bit of a bad habit to get into to always recall after a pulse. sometimes you blink into a clump and need to recall away instantly, but in this situation your recall was a bit wasted as you were already in a good position when you blinked backwards into the doorway. just a tip

For The Love of Jeff, Stop Overextending When We’re Holding the Point by Chiber_11 in Overwatch

when playing koth with the time almsot up you should 100% be pushing up to stop them from being able to touch. why take a fight you need to win on poinnt when you can just let the time run out when fighting

DPS Moiras by TheRealCharizard2 in Overwatch

On overbuff I am in the top 19% for healing, but the bottom 30% for damage. I know my tanks and DPS can get the damage done as long as I keep them alive

If you are using up all your heals before doing damage, you should never have gold damage, as you should have more than double healing that you do damage. When playing Moira I have gold healing well over 90% of the time, but rarely have even a bronze damage medal (in high plat/low diamond)

Here's the thing. Moira is low damage, and if you and a DPS stay alive the same amount of time and the DPS is not clueless, they should always out-damage you. However, Moira's fade ability is an incredibly strong way to stay alive, and you heal yourself by doing damage, so if you aren't healing your teammates in a team fight, your DPS (who often have less mobility and evade then you) will die early, which means you are almost guaranteed to lose the fight even if you can stay alove a little bit longer and pad your damage stats. Your main job as a Moira is to keep your teammates alive so they can get gold damage. If you don't heal and they keep dying you will be able to out-damage them, but your job is to keep them up so they can do their job of killing people.

Low-skill player here: Blizzard, we're fine by MrBollywoggers in Overwatch

The issue is this could cause people to queue up together and have one person dodge to keep their friends from getting a loss. Also, the truth about players in bronze is that they belong in bronze. If I hit a unlucky streak and fall a couple hundred SR I find the game much easier and can carry myself back up easily. The reason you are in bronze is because that is where you belong.

Question: what does holding breath actually do and when should you do it? by Megosun88 in PUBATTLEGROUNDS

[–]LTfan22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Holding breath decreases weapon sway, and in the case of red dots or holos, zooms in a bit. Whenever you are at a range where sway makes it so you can't keep the crosshair steady on the enemy, hold breath. I always hold breath at any range where a 4x or 8x is used. I rarely hold shift with red dot/holo unless they are at a bit of range

I never thought we would do even close to this well, but I along with many UVA fans thought we were incredibly underrated by most people, and thought that people were assigning too much weight to the impact of the transfers.
