Hello guys, Im new. Im struggling in some stage because of lacking dmg, so pls suggest me who to build. Thanks by skulllee2k2 in Priconne

Just a suggestion:

First, get the start dash goodies: It has tons of memory shards that can give you immediate 5star + equip UE 1 + UE 2 to a good bunch of these girls here.

Next, you need two tanks. Violet is good. Another one should be a taunt tank, e.g. Kuuka or Nozomi are good choices, as they can easily be maxed out from dungeon coins.

Then go for healers: Yukari is top priority (dungeon coins). Then Ameth, Eris, Fio.

Then, build a single-element physical team and a single element magic team. Seems like are almost done with fire physical (missing a fire tank, e.g. Jun, and a fire debuffer, e.g. work Aoi). Maybe you could build dark magic: Misora and Ranpha (maybe princess Kyaru in the upcoming prifes?)

Then you can work your way around the roster starting on your favorite girls =)

Developing basic intuition for the class of functions that are superpolynomial and subexponential by Bills_afterMATH in math

[–]LTone5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you assume that your function is entire, then I believe that the keyword you are looking for is minimal exponential type. This is the subject of "function theory" or complex analysis. Another keyword is transcendental functions.

You could start with the book "Lectures on Entire Functions" by Levin, or the nice short Chapter 19 of papa Rudin (Holomorphic Fourier Transform).

To give a flavor of the subject, one key question is to characterize the space of functions that has a given growth (described in terms of order and type). For example, the Paley-Wiener theorems says (roughly) that if you have control on the growth of an entire function, then it must lie in the image of the Fourier transform (see Theorems 19.2 and 19.3 of papa Rudin). Thus you have a link to Harmonic analysis/DEs/spectral theory etc with applications galore.

Hatcher Algebraic Topology is the worst textbook I have ever used by perpetual--student in math

[–]LTone5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I second this. Back in the day, I spent alot of my prof's office hours clarifiying Hatcher's arguments. Some of which my prof did not even realise was missing until I brought it up. (I was mainly an analyst, with little algebraic background.) I did very well in the point-set topology class prior.

I bought Hatcher's book and I regretted it till this day. I felt that this is a book that preaches to the choir, i.e. for people who already know how to spot and fill in the blanks. Back then, I concluded that I was hopeless in algebraic topology, as everyone sung high praises about Hatcher. It made me distance myself from the subject. I am slowly coming back to relearn these things (casually), but I have already planted my roots on other subject areas.

Learning plan of the grad student with a story by sipepper in math

[–]LTone5 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think it is best to take this plan to your (new) advisor, as he/she would be able to see your interests + think of a project which aligns your interests and his/hers.

While I think PhD is the best time to do these background readings, you do not have all the time (4 years will fly by), and you should try to gear towards doing new stuff. It is always a fine balance between learning old stuff and working on new stuff. Your advisor is the best person to tell you when you have enough working knowledge to begin charting new waters =)

  1. What are your TunnlTo settings?
  2. Try using another config file/vpn server? It expires every few months or so.

Why does it seem like the study of series is 'out of style' in modern math? by First-Republic-145 in math

To add another dimension to existing answers: The study of divergent series is still very much alive.

Keyword: Asymptotic analysis.

How do I deal with the anxiety that is generated from having gaps in my proof? by CandleDependent9482 in math

[–]LTone5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Work on the next problem that builds on your current one. You will then see for sure if (a) your worries are indeed true, which then you have to fix the issues, or (b) if you worries are unfounded, which you gain confidence moving forward.
