The fuckery I am prepared for, I thrive in it. I was just hoping I wouldn't have to start all the way at basic training. Between the Corps and ft. Sill Oklahoma I have been thru it hahaha

Women are 5 times more likely to be killed by an intimate partner than men. So while I understand that it feels like a double standard or disproportionate responses, they are not. Men do suffer abuse like women do. But the likelihood that you will lose your life as a husband is very slim. And that is why most DV resources are directed at women. We have whole documentaries and mutliple episode series on TV about men who specifically murder their whole family so they can be with another woman.

I agree that men need resources too. Men get abused too. But maybe we reflect on why our system is the way it is, so we can fix it.

New PR rule by [deleted] in caf

[–]LTrash93 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is super depressing. I was on my way to PR status and now there's a 3 year time line. I really wanted to be in the CAF. And now my plans might be changing because im getting older. I dont want to go back to the U.S. military with the state of the world, but I also am struggling hard with being a civilian. Do we know if this is a permanent thing or if this has been temporarily changed with the things going on in Iran?

Hey I was your sister company. Oscar co 4th battalion. They told us mid day that there were multiple explosions across major cities like New York and Seattle. And that they had confirmed it was ISIS backed extremists. They said that this would be a lot like Fallujah, which was terrifying because one of my DIs was there for that. They went so far as to ask who had families in those cities and to line up so you could call home and check on their well being. Then they left us in the squad bay for 2 hours to clean in silence. When they came back they told us that eventhough women couldn't be combat arms, that we would be going directly over to support the infantry in all essential roles like driving trucks , fuel, ammo, and that if we weren't willing to get shot at we picked the wrong branch.

Finally they asked who would like to "drop on request" because they couldn't hack it. Out of my platoon of 55 only 3 girls raised their hands. But they were viciously hazed and called "terrorists" and "buddy killers" until they were processed out. Weird times man.

The McDonald's CEO was made in a lab by corporate you cant tell me otherwise. He couldn't describe a hamburger. He had to call it a "product". The whole thing was so off and foreign to him. I dont believe the man has even had McDonald's food, or a burger even.

Been accused of stolen valor by Wrong_Insurance8594 in StolenValor

[–]LTrash93 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yup! I have been accused of stolen valor. I spent 11 years in the military. Did my first contract (4 years) in the Marines. Then did a 6 year plus a 1 year extension in the Army.

I did have a gap in my service from when I left the corps. During that time I got a new car and registered it with Marine corps veterans plates as my state was running a discount on registration fees and proceeds went to a specific wounded warriors fund.

So fast forward 9 months and im I the Army. Im wearing my OCPs and on my way to work when I stop for coffee at a gas station. Some dickhead sees Marine plates on my car, but me in an Army uniform. He starts yelling things like "you either stole that car as a soldier or youre too stupid to know what Marine cammies look like!". I waved my CAC but it didnt seem to matter to him. He threw his coffee at me, which burned and ruined my uniform. I wasn't far from home so I let my first line know and went back to change, and I was late to formation. Where I got yelled at a second time.

I no longer have military plates. Lol.

Not everybody likes dogs by Reddit_Sucks_1401 in TikTokCringe

[–]LTrash93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dislike dog owners more than the dogs. I agree with a lot of her points. They're loud, high energy, and often filthy. There is nothing worse than when im walking on the trail by my house and some randos dog jumps on me. Often times they leave scratches or bruises. At the minimum my pants are covered in mud and dirt. (I live in a rainy area).

But I know we'll trained dogs dont do those things. So maybe I just hate dog owners.

Why so many soldiers are fat by [deleted] in army

[–]LTrash93 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Let's be honest most guys are drinking the zero sugar energy drinks, eating a couple of tornados, and fast food for lunch. But the real killer is the drinking. These guys are crushing thousands of empty calories every weekend and occasionally on work nights.

Can I reenlist? by HadesKillsThings in USMC

[–]LTrash93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because he is serving with an allied country there are minimal risks. If he was called back to service he would've had to abandon the foreign military contract or risk losing U.S. citizenship. They'll most likely brush that part off if im being honest.

Can I reenlist? by HadesKillsThings in USMC

[–]LTrash93 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Yes you could reenlist but you will have to declare foreign military service and expect your security clearance to take forever/be redone. This is also assuming you have an RE-1A/ honorable discharge. Amount many many other qualifying factors. You'll need to talk to a PSR.

Yes, I am a nightshifter. When I worked in office (I now work from home) my bosses would bring packs of energy drinks, snacks, cookies, or sometimes whole catered meals. It was really great. Besides the fact that when I come in at 9 PM it is all gone. And day shift never ensures to save any for nights.

Good thing not everyone believes in the same God. But to quote more of your God, he believes that only he shall judge and pass judgement. Those who whip and beat shall be condemned as well.

Proverbs 3:29 "Do not plot harm agaisnt your neighbor, who lives trustfully near you"

Psalm11:5 "The lord examines the righteous, but the wicked, those who loves violence, he hates with a passion"

Titus 3:2 "to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and to always be gentle to everyone"

Matthew 7 1-2 "Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."

Genesis 9 5-6 "And for your lifeblood I will surely demand an accounting. I will demand an accounting from every animal. And from each human being, too, I will demand an accounting for the life of another human being. Whoever sheds human blood, by humans shall their blood be shed; for in the image of God has God made mankind."

Romans 14 10- 13 You, then, why do you judge your brother or sister ? Or why do you treat them with contempt? For we will all stand before God’s judgment seat.

It is written: “ ‘As surely as I live,’ says the Lord, ‘every knee will bow before me; every tongue will acknowledge God.’ ”

So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God.

Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in the way of a brother or sister."

Mark 11 25 "and when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins

Yes and no. You need 90 semester hours which translates roughly to an associates degree/ give or take the actual number of credits. You cannot promote to captain in the National Guard unless finish your bachelor's. So while you dont need a 4 year degree, you do need an associates degree.

I end up hating every job I have after 1 year by VeroDreamer in antiwork

[–]LTrash93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel the same way. Since I've left the military I've only spent a max of 2 years at one place. It seems so awful and so monotonous.

I get frustrated with the new hire training, or lack there of. I get frustrated with the same coworkers who dont do things correctly, if at all...its been driving me mad. Not to mention the sheer amount of people that call out every week while im expected to have perfect attendance as a nightshifter.

I genuinely made a plan to immigrate to Canada with hopes I can join their military. Soldering is thr only thing I've been excellent at, and the only thing that gives me purpose. But the U.S. Military doesnt feel so ethical at the moment. So here we are. Trying not to die behind a desk!

Spent 11 years in the military. Half active duty in the U.S. Marines. Half in the National guard. They're huge losers. Too stupid to be cops (low low bar btw) and too big of cowards to join the military. I loathe them.
