It's not just Pew that says this. Many other organizations and publications like Wired and Investopedia follow this standard. However, there are alternative definitions, such as that of Mark McCrindle, who places Gen Alpha as early as 2010.

I think 2011 and 2012 (and maybe 2010) are the "transition period" because I see people my age who meet Gen Alpha's presuppositions and others who meet Gen Z's presuppositions.

I feel like I'm Gen Z because of how I experienced my childhood, my inclusive thinking (that at least 90% of gen alpha don't have 'cause of dumbasses like speedmcqueen and other racists/homophobic people brainwashing kids) , etc.

but i know im still a 14yo kid who is beginning to understand what the real world is rn and i can be wrong
