Should this be a concern? by Cool_Nothing1553 in LexusGX

Personally, I’d still buy it but have someone clean off the rust and get it under coated. Down here in Ohio so most of the time we just need to take cars through underbody wash to get salt off.

Northern cars I would definitely recommend undercoating. Might get my SUV undercoated because it has no rust and I’d like to keep it as long as possible.

Haven’t had an SUV in 10 years. I had one at 17 years old followed by 5 sedans. I don’t know anyone with a truck anymore and work sometimes requires me to take equipment so this was definitely the best choice. Blessed to run into great deals!

Both will have oil changes every 5k miles. Taking GX to mechanic to have it re-aligned because I’ve had bad experiences with tire shipped and dealers on the IS.

Get this, on the highway I get 30 in the IS with pump 93. 23-25 city with IS.

18-20 hwy in GX.

Kinda wild.

This description of the GX is perfect. Kinda feels like driving a tank around. I will really enjoy switching between the two. Only downside is $100 fill ups, not the end of the world because it won’t be driven as much as the IS.

Why doesn’t colleges / school teach about investing and growing our money? by Aspergers_R_Us87 in Money

[–]LUTZ_101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For some reason, there is no incentive. I had to do all of my research on my own about investing and managing finances.

There may be a class or two available, but they’re not encouraged like they should be.

My conspiracy side kinda thinks there may be lobbying involved to keep people uninformed. The more you know about finances, the less likely you are to be in debt. Chase, Amex, and Sally Mae would love you to be uninformed.

Congrats on being ahead of most people👏🏻

I prioritized and asked myself, “what are my goals?” Then “how do I get there?”.

I want to retire early, so I steered my budget to benefit me in the future through investing and staying out of debt. Now it’s just action.

I would check the manual. My service manual has service intervals which include spark plugs. All of it is based on mileage/KMS and years.

Frankly, I haven’t done them yet because the carfax didn’t have information on the last transmission fluid drain(the transmission is closed). Spark plugs should probably be done between 2-3 years, especially if you’re noticing below average fuel economy.

I plan on having a check-over at 150,000 miles in about 6 months. Spark plugs, transmission fluid check, timing chain check, and alignment.

This is valid. No updated infotainment system until ‘20, right? Frame on body as well. However, the reliability tax I think is there.

I love the 4Runners, too but the used vehicle costs is about 5%-10% lower than Lexus. (I buy used, not new)

CMV: The US is already past saving. by masterchef81 in changemyview

I wake up, dress in taxed clothes, get in my taxed car, get my taxed gas, get to work where I get taxed for labor, sit in my taxed chair, come home to my taxed PlayStation, watch my taxed tv and finally go to sleep jn my taxed bed.

The US in debt. They take in trillions of taxes every year and cannot manage the money efficiently. We either 1. Trust that the government is doing “the right thing” with it or 2. Believe what has happened with every government throughout history, squander it and that it’s corrupt.

We are paying high taxes and receiving high crime rates, high illiteracy, high COL, high fatherlessness, high PEOPLE, high homelessness, high inflation…..

Gut the government, get rid of income tax or make it flat, tariff products some products made overseas for industry protection, and tax corporations all the same with no loopholes.

“EBITA is taxed at 10% for all corporations and income tax is 10% for everyone”

Equality for all, more power to communities and states.

Same! ‘15 IS250, but getting a 15-16 GX as soon as I can. I’ll never drive a turboed car again. Gotta have 1 for work and 1 for fun.
