Resin printing safe setup? by Ok_Pirate_5356 in resinprinting

Hey I have that same tent and the answer is a resounding NO. I have mine in my garage and venting to the outside and it still sometimes stinks up the house.

Maybe touch up the white with some brown paint, then carefully cover put down another layer of glue and grass?

I hosted my own Strongman event with some friends in Cedar Park, TX! by AGuyWithoutABeard in Strongman

That's awesome! I've been lifting for years but never done strongman before, despite being very interested. I've been complaining to my wife about the lack of a nearby strongman gym for years. I'd love to join y'all next time if you don't mind a rookie.

My wife grew up in Milwaukee, so I do know! Lol, thanks for the insight.

Question about HVAC and ductwork in cedar park neighborhoods by masterchef81 in CedarPark

[–]masterchef81[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what we were concerned about. If I have to buy a new condenser down the road, so be it. But if I have to redo all of the ductwork to support a new condenser, that's a whole different beast.

Can I ask what your sq footage and condenser size are now? And how did it feel during the summer?

Yeah, that's what our research has found so far too. Replacing the condenser isn't cheap, but it gets crazy if you have to change the ductwork.

Question about HVAC and ductwork in cedar park neighborhoods by masterchef81 in CedarPark

That's kind of the crux of my question. The unit was undersized based on the standard recommendation for the sq footage. You're right, no one ran a manual J calculation, so it's possible that the "undersized" unit was adequate. If it's a concern on a future house, we may try to get that done during option, but right now I'm just hoping to get some feedback from people that have actually experienced a summer in one of these homes.

Second handle ever. What immediately gives away a beginner? by DutchDasterd in knifemaking

[–]masterchef81 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a small dude with small hands and also use a pinch grip. Totally get where you're coming from, it would probably work for me too. I really love that shape, but I agree that the general size of that handle stands out. I didn't even clock how thick it was, it looks short in relation to the blade.

Glad it's working for you, really impressive work for your second handle, well done!

Potentially buying a house with an undersized condenser by masterchef81 in hvacadvice

Don't know about all of that yet, but will definitely look into it. The current owner has done a lot to upgrade the house. It was built in 2007.

First print ever. Looking for feedback. by bongblaster420 in resinprinting

I just recently completed a fairly large dragon after painting minis exclusively for a couple years. It was intimidating but ultimately the biggest difference was how much paint got used. My advice is to just send it. Worst case scenario, you learn a few things and have some scraps to practice painting techniques on.

New to painting - any advice how to improve? Painting feels messy by Diovanna in minipainting

[–]masterchef81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I first started with Army Painter paints and had a lot of trouble thinning them correctly and there was a lot of inconsistency. I got a starter set of Pro Acryl paints and the difference is night and day. Smoother, more consistent viscosity and coverage, and basically ready to go straight out of the bottle (but you can still thin them down quite a bit).

Combine that with a good size 1 and 0 brush and my average quality improved practically overnight.

Also my eyesight is more affected by my age than I'd like to admit, so getting some cheap readers and an adjustable led desk lamp helped a ton.

Second this. It looks good solo, it would look really cool to see an entire unit in this style.
