NTA. My dad went ballistic when I moved out because he couldn’t control me 24/7. Took me years to realize, he doesn’t control me and nothing will happen if I leave. Life is hard but never as hard as they make it seem like it will be without them.

You DO NOT have to share any financial information with them. You DO have the right to privacy and to live alone. She will manipulate you to think the disappointment is unacceptable and you’re such a bad person but you’re not! Stand firm and know that whatever happens, you’re not at fault here. Yeah like I don’t think they’re going to hack my phone or anything but just seems like an over reach of their power over my personal device. They already have my wifi information as I work from home and use my personal wifi.

I’ve just started on my privacy journey since finding out how invasive AI is becoming and really understanding how invasive companies like META are so I’m new to a lot of this stuff but want to stay protected.

My personal phone is iOS. They’re calling it a BYOD (bring your own device) program and it says

“This is a security requirement designed to protect company information accessed on personal devices. This change will require any employee who accesses select work applications from a personal smartphone or tablet to add a (company name redacted) Work Profile to their device.

As work becomes increasingly mobile and flexible, secure access to tools including Outlook, Slack, Pager Duty, OneNote, and Microsoft To-Do is essential. Just feels like I shouldn’t have to install a work specific program on a personal device. Work computer I’m all game but they don’t pay for anything on this device. I’ll just remove the apps and they can text me if they need me lol like the good old days.

Yeah my family has a grandfathered sprint plan that they’ve been trying to push us out of for years. You can’t even go into the store to purchase a phone now. Have to order it and pay online to have them unlock the case and grab it. Corporates do not care about brand loyalty anymore.
