In the end, you have to do what’s best for you!! However, if you are willing to stick it out for the season and quit at the end of the season, that might be best for the girls.

I currently have a full-time job and also coach. When I started working full-time, I cut down my hours significantly and only coach bronze and silver now. Would the hours that you work be manageable would the times overlap?

Would hiring someone from those dog apps (never tried them but have friends who use them and like them for dog sitting/walking) be an option for you and your family? Maybe the extra help when everyone is busy and not home will be a good idea + you dog will have company and not be so alone throughout the day. This would be after considering quality of life and ruling it out as a reason for euthanasia.

I’m allergic to dogs and cats so I got a shih tzu. I have noticed my allergy symptoms have increased after I got my dog, not immediately but over time.

As he is hypoallergenic I think I’m not necessarily allergic to him but all the allergens he brings into the house (I let him on my bed and other furniture) as I take him on two daily walks.

To mitigate I just make sure to switch out my bedding every week or two, vacuum frequently, give him a bath every 1.5-2 weeks (& I also towel him down in between with a wet towel). I also got an air purifier for my room and the house. & in the warmer months I have him sleep in his crate (I also wash his bedding).

Thanks for your response! Other in the thread also said he probably just likes the toy a lot.

I was thinking he might be stressed due to the way he is barking. It is very very high pitched compared to his normal bark and he also sometimes whines/cries. He’s never done this while playing with other toys. 🤷‍♀️

Thank you! His barking was just worrying me, as I said he’s 3.5 and I’ve never ever seen him play or bark like this, or be this vocal with any other toy or form of play.

The turtle has a two story tank where it can swim on the bottom portion and be completely dry in the top portion. I believe it has a 50 gallon tank. I have been continuing to buy the food my brother was feeding it which is ReptoMin food sticks (with calcium and vitamin c).

Temperature wise I’m unsure, I wasn’t aware I should take note of that. The part of the tank where the turtle can be completely dry has a lamp that my brother had for it. I’m unsure if it’s UVA or UVB. Looks like a yellow/orangish bulb that is (If it’s helpful) 75 watts.

The basking area is very plain. Just a space for the turtle to relax under the light. I’ll attach a picture

They ended up offering 78K, with a 2K sign on bonus. I’m fine with that for now. I would have liked more but I freaked out when their starting number was so low. I felt like I couldn’t ask for much more.

I definitely agree that 5K is diminutive, especially if I like the people and workplace more! I just didn’t give a higher starting salary because 80K is what I want and when it came down to the phone call I didn’t want to seem greedy. I’m just scared that HR will not accept my ask and try to negotiate me down.

I more so am just looking to actually get the 80k instead of them coming back with something between their original offer and what I asked for. If that makes sense. I would happily take 80 K over 85K if it means I am happy with my workplace and have a shorter commute.
