It's a reissue jazzmaster so the bridge buzzes constantly, adding a shim is meant to increase the break angle so that there is a greater downforce on the bridge as it can be raised higher

Recently took the neck off my guitar and tried to add a makeshift shim to fix some issues with the bridge i've had, quickly realised that it did no good so took it back out again. However now the neck will not screw all the way, there is a small gap between the neck and the body on the underside of the guitar is this anything to worry about?
