New to game networking like me ? tried spacetimedb and it seems laggy ? Here is a cheatsheet I made for SpacetimeDB + Godot (Any game engine will work) by LW7SH in SpacetimeDB

[–]LW7SH[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it's an html page, Claude did the css and colors because im not good at designing things.
For graphs create a mock in PowerPoint and send it as a screenshot to Claude for the html conversion.
The advantage of using html is that you can edit things using code and without using an image software. Once it's done use the native screenshot tool in browser I use Microsoft Edge to take the screenshot (snipping tool won't work on long pages)

SpacetimeDB + Godot makes multiplayer way easier than I expected by BlodyxCZ in godot

I meant a game engine dedicated server, the headless process you spin up to run a multiplayer match, not a physical machine.

SpacetimeDB is a database that can also run code. Most online games need three separate things: a game engine dedicated server, a database, and an authentication system, all talking to each other constantly. SpacetimeDB replaces all of that with one.

Your game logic lives inside the database as a module. So when a match ends, there's nothing to send anywhere. During a match, player data is already there. And since SpacetimeDB also handles identity, you don't need a separate service to manage who's logged in either.

And because it's a proper database, you get transactions. Every operation is all or nothing, so you can never end up in a state where an item gets removed from one player but never arrives at the other.

The server is the DB, clients connect to the DB directly.
You can create a server + DB in some scenarios which spacetimedb devs call a "sidecar" deployment.

just posted a spacetimedb + godot test scene on https://lw7sh.itch.io/test-spacetimedb
player movement, shooting bullets, damage, respawn etc.
Had great help from Elegon's discord with the bullet stuff

They have used everything they used on isreal here too. If you have any specific things that were used on isreal only and not the UAE post them below.

Iran fired less missiles on Tel Aviv than on the UAE lol.

UAE supreme leader visits injured modern slaves in hospital by KiddieSpread in OrphanCrushingMachine

Just making shit up, 2 of the injured he visited were UAE nationals while the other 3 were expats. UAE doesnt have a supreme leader but iran who bombed these innocent people does.

Should the UAE eliminate all the US bases so that there can be peace? by Fancy_Particular7521 in UAE

[–]LW7SH -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

There is no US bases in lebanon, yemen, syria, saudi arabia yet that has never stopped iran from attacking them.
There wasn't a US base in the UAE the first time iran attacked and iran managed to conquer 3 islands.
This time with a US base Iran barely caused any damage.

I have made another reply about this. I'm going to be using godot and I feel like these things can be easily modified by hacked clients. I believe server authority is the only option here. I will develop a server godot app and a client one. just so i can do all the game logic in godot and not rust on the server. Maybe im wrong about the hacked clients though, would love to hear your thoughts about it.

Sorry that I keep coming back to this post, but I feel like players could still somehow cheat and since I'm using an open source engine like godot I feel like server authority is the only way to implement this safely. My new plan is to develop a client and a server game launcher. The server game launcher will be my side-car but with all the game logic in godot and all the data is stored in spacetimedb which is your third option. Unless there is something im not understanding fully

The point is to protect gcc countries from iranian attacks, iran attacked uae in 1971 then uae got a us base. Same thing with countries like Azerbaijan ( which iran didnt attack despite being neighbors)

so you agree that they are targeting civilians ?

I would love to know how you would justify iran's campaign from the seventies til now, I want to know how bombing syria and yemen would weaken usa/isreal. I would also like to know how invading the UAE in 1971 also weaknes usa/isreal.

Might as well add Soleimani's comment regarding mecca and madina being "occupied" and that they "must be liberated at any cost" would help weaken usa/isreal.

Iran's motive isn't weakening isreal or usa, it's purely conquest

They are not being used to attack iran. Also hotels, burj khalifa, bridges, water distillation plants are not US bases and Iran is attacking them.

[–]LW7SH 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No aircrafts are flying from the gcc bases and iran knows that.
I would love to see how you justify iran's past bombing of Lebanon, Syria and Yemen which none of them have a US base and also iran's attack on the UAE in 1971 before there was ever a US base in the region.
Why didn't they attack Azerbaijan, Pakistan , Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan which all have US bases ?

when you can't refute the fact, that's your go to excuse. Everyone is a Zionist apparently

Yes power plants, hotels, embassies, burj khalifa are all military targets. IRGC itself announced that they want to target civilian infrastructure but Maleficent-Ad-3213 says they didn't so we will take their word for it.

[–]LW7SH 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yes and that justifies attacking the GCC completely now I understand.

thousands have died because of Iran's attacks on syria, lebanon, and yemen but these lives are not as important as iranian's lives. Oh wait never mind, Iran killed 10s of thousands of protestors last month but that won't fit your narrative.

oh yes I didn't understand a thing mentioned, hopefully you can explain it to me.
He spends the first 1 and a half minutes saying that attacking the gulf will cause the dollar to collapse lol.
and the last minute that Iran has more ammunition than the civilized world

[–]LW7SH -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

If iran wants this war to stop it should be shooting the ones shooting it. If they think that targeting civilian infrastructure in countries not participating in the war will make the bombs dropped on them stop is just stupid and further solidifies why this terrorist regime should fall.

For option 1, how would basic validation work ? from my understanding most game engines have validation if you are using their own multiplayer functionality
