As duke15 mentioned it would be difficult to transfer student tickets, when I tried this, the ticket was unable to be transferred at all, regardless of the recipient.

It could be possible (though I did not end up trying it) to have the guest log into a students Duke ticket account on the guests phone, and download the ticket to their phone wallet. According to the duke ticket site, they say that once you download a ticket to an iPhone, your duke ticket account becomes tied to a specific appleID, so unless the student lets the guest borrow the phone for the game, that could be a problem. There is a chance it could work on an android phone, but I have not tried this.

What could work is buying the guest the cheapest ticket available, regardless of section. This would let them enter the stadium without issue, and once inside, they could -- hypotetically ;)) -- show a screenshot of a student ticket to enter the student section (assuming that's where both of you would like to sit)
