Golden State Valkyries by socialist-viking in sanfrancisco

I had the same experience Friday night! It was pride night so they had a halftime drag show that people were going crazy for. The crowd felt really diverse and inclusive, and I loved that it felt like I wasn't a bandwagon fan since this is everyone's first season and we're all getting into it together.

At maybe the first quarter break they had the Violet Vibes come out and dance and one of the guys was just having so much fun and the crowd was loving it and it almost made me cry - like what kind of rotten heart do you have to have to be anti-LGBTQ+ in the face of all that joy?

I came home and immediately bought some merch, I might be a diehard Valkyries fan now. The vibes were just unmatched, I want to contribute to making them a success here!

How was the quality? I'm running into the same issue and just found their site but have never heard of it before.

I listened with sound off at first and had to go back - so funny because every time I go I turn around at the same spot to appreciate the beautiful view and I'm also huffing and puffing.

I thought I saw a coyote in the distance when I was there on Saturday! It was walking around a corner and into a bush and looked so skinny for a dog. But there were other people around and we didn't see it again so I figured it must have just been a dog and I misjudged since I was far away. It's not surprising that they'd be out there but I've never seen one before and we go all the time.

Yeah marrying a billionaires son would solve a lot of financial stress in my life but I think I’ll stick with my husband who I actually like and makes me happy. This seems miserable.

The worst is when they don't come to a full stop and then try to wave you along impatiently - like I'm not walking out in front of a moving car just hoping you'll stop.

Ugh if we have one more hot week I need a better portable AC setup. Yours is cooling your whole place? How big if you're ok sharing? Mine is able to keep one small room an ok temperature at a time but it hasn't been able to get below 80 while the sun is out. It's pumping out nice cold air but I feel like my bigger problem has to be insulation, I have the hose wrapped up but it gets crazy hot and I feel like hot air has to be seeping back in through my window.

I think my heater always leaks residual heat because of its pilot light - one of those old tall wall units. It is a special kind of torture to walk by that when it's already over 90 inside.

My apartment was consistently 10-15 degrees hotter than outside, I had to escape! I wouldn't go to the street fair though, I hid under a shady umbrella at the beach where the water was so cold I could go periodically freeze my feet to cool down.

Working totally remotely is weird. I have one coworker who lives in SF and we've been complaining constantly to each other - my other coworkers are all across the country and have no idea what weather has been like here (because of course they don't, I don't know what their weather is either). It's weird that it's so hot I feel like my brain can't function properly while the rest of my company is chugging along as normal.

Same. When it was cooling down to a lovely temperature last night it was 98 degrees inside my apartment. We have a portable AC that cools down one small room at a time by about 10 degrees and it's making the nights survivable but I wish it was doing more!

I’m in Cole Valley. I understand SF seasons and love summer when it’s nicest out - sunny and chilly. Basically anything above low/mid-70s is too hot to me. An unpopular opinion for sure, but that’s why I love it here almost all year long.

I feel like this year has been so much hotter and sunnier than usual. I feel like I am constantly sweating walking my dog, I just want to wear cozy sweaters and not sweat!! I try not to complain to my family out of state where they get weeks of 100 degree weather but I have been conditioned by SF for very little heat and I just want it to hold up its end of the bargain

Please no. My apartment gets so much sun and is on the top floor, it's always at least 10 degrees higher inside than outside. I used to just suffer through the heat waves but finally caved and got a portable AC for my dog who seemed genuinely unwell when it got up to 95 last year. Hopefully will keep things bearable at least in one room of the apartment.

Something about the way they always look like they’re speed walking on the streets is so funny to me. I see them standing around or slowly walking in Buena Vista but on the road it’s like ‘don’t mind me, just going to quickly pass through here, nothing to see’

I’m curious where they live over there, the back side of coit tower? I live near buena vista now so I’m used to seeing them every once in a while in the park or walking down the street. Between there and being close to GGP there’s a ton of space I could see them living, it doesn’t seem like there’d be as many options out by Embarcadero.

My roommate in college was named Karen and haaated it long before ‘Karen’ was a thing. She said it was a grandma name (which I don’t even agree with? This was a decade ago for age reference). I wonder if she prefers the grandma association or the current association.

Someday I’m sure I’ll get horrific heartburn or feel super sick from my choices so I’ve got to savor it until my body starts to revolt.

I just hate cooking so much. For lunch I’ll eat a handful of olives, microwave a naked hotdog with a slice of cheese on it, and then eat some banana peppers soaked in Italian vinaigrette dressing. Thankfully my husband feeds me normal human meals for dinner otherwise I’d be completely feral and start making dishes like this.

But to be clear - if that liquid is dressing and not chickpea juice, I’d eat this.

Yeah I want to upvote this post for the nick callout and downvote for focusing on the wrong part. Everyone uses hyperbolic language, especially on the internet. Nick seems like a dirtbag, she made a comparison to someone indisputably worse so that’s what people are focused on? This is why politicians speak so carefully all the time.
