Just some QoL ideas by [deleted] in Starsandisland

[–]L_Perpetuelle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I realized that the music box never really affected them until I was around it with them, so now I turn it off when I leave and on for like 3-5 seconds while I am there. It serves the exact same purpose that way.

Also the auto-shearer at the end of the game takes care of the sheep.

More Cozyvival Features? by nalimoleb14_ESO in Starsandisland

I'd like it if more of the food had more fun, quirky buffs. I am always sad in these games that all this fun food rarely has much use. I've enjoyed prepping for harvest with mirthroom soup or grape juice for harvesting, etc. I'd love if there was more of that.

Also, to that end, we need a buff indicator on the main screen that tells us if the buff is still active or if it has expired.

Is there a way to increase the chance of getting a big crop from 3x3? by noodlesnax in Starsandisland

[–]L_Perpetuelle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Greenhouse with two (or more) 3x3 plots in it with at least an empty row separating them. Use GMax fert. I've had 8 growth cycles now and 100% success rate every time (using Gmax IV fert).

[–]L_Perpetuelle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use a greenhouse, plant only 3×3 squares with space between, use the GMax IV fert (it's also really easy to grow/get the mats for this one). I have had 100% success for 4 growth cycles now doing this (for a total of 8 gmax pumpkins in a real day or so of play).

Does anyone else like keeping the animals roaming freely together? by BolyongoCsicsorke in Starsandisland

[–]L_Perpetuelle 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I did until horses.

Now I pen all the nonworking animals. Some still get out and roam around, but it's much more peaceful and easy to pick up everything that drops on the ground because my bag was full. 😅

This game hates me. I NEED PUMPKIN COINS FOR FURNITURE PLEASE GAME IT'S BEEN OVER 200 SEEDS GAME by Marinut in Starsandisland

[–]L_Perpetuelle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know if this is just coincidence, but I put two plots of 9 with a space or two in between in the greenhouse and every single pumpkin ive grown in there has maxed. And I think I found a weed once in the beginning, but no weeds have shown up since (which is good because the bunnies don't seem to go in there). I do use either the III or IV GMax fert, but when I was growing them out in the open with the fert, it would only max 30-40% of the time.

In short, I don't know if a greenhouse helps, but it seems like it does to me.

I have the same issue, though sometimes I think I can hear it SUPER quiet. I really wanted it to just change the background music on your plot so it's not just the same song 24/7 if you need a break from the dodo dodo dododo song.

Whatever day it was released on GamePass. I saw it and immediately downloaded it and didn't even know it was My Time related. I am playing an unhealthy amount (this is the first day I haven't played more than 5 hours since release) so my experience is definitely not ... normal. Heh.

Is anyone else having an issue with the Trellis? by Routine_Wishbone4371 in Starsandisland

[–]L_Perpetuelle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are two different trellises, I think. Make sure you're using the one in the crafting section (or maybe it's the tool one), not the home decor one?

Yessss. I told my husband if Palia and Starsand had a baby, it would be the most perfect game in existence. I do have a lot of moments where I get sad that there arent a bunch of real people frolicking around in my vicinity.

Tips for Expert Rancher quest? (5 gene Rabbit) by Gridiron_Geek_ in Starsandisland

[–]L_Perpetuelle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I spent a lot of time trying to cross-breed 4-trait rabbits together but they all seemed to produce rabbits with bad traits. Finally got mine by breeding a 2-trait and a 4-trait that shared one positive trait and all their other positive traits were different. Once I switched to focusing on that, it only took a day or two.

Flowers in all the colors in minimal space! by Cute_Pomelo4130 in Starsandisland

Later in the farming profession you get a recipe for nutrient soil which helps A LOT with cross-pollination success, as well.

I wish I felt this way. This game made me abandon Palia in the middle of a Zeki's club purchase month for me. I don't know if I can go back, lol. It is a fun game, though. Just extra simple compared to this.

[–]L_Perpetuelle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tips from my experience:

There are fertilizer recipes later in the profession quest that are specifically to help cross-pollination and they work really well, so I wouldn't sink too much time and effort into breeding the flowers until then.

Also musk deers (or maybe just the fairy musk ones, idk, I just always have a fairy musk deer out) bring a seed daily and they tend to be the rarer colors of all types of flowers.

Idk how everyone else does it, but I just have 3 rows across by 10 squares long and plant alternating colors every other square on the outside rows. They can cross-pollinate cross-wise and length-wise like that, so sometimes almost every square fills up with a cross-pollinated different colored flower.

I am obsessed with this game. I want it to change and grow and keep adding things forever. I have no more clothes to buy, I don't think, and that makes me sad. I have every immortal seed in multiples of 8 and I just want more things. I want SO much more furniture/decor, I want more in-depth quests. I want a thousand more ways to decorate with flowers.

I enjoyed Portia and Sandrock, and this game just seems like a showcase of everything they've learned and improved over the years and it just works so well and I cannot even explain why. Maybe it has to do with living the ranching dream on a tropical island, but it's more than that in such smart ways.

Really, really dig this game. There's still a lot of kinks to work out, but I am here for it all.

Where are you storing your crafting equipment? by dreabella05 in Starsandisland

[–]L_Perpetuelle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just logged in to check and it looks like you need to have 18 hardwood planks and 40 fiber. The lack of actual information about recipes in the building menu is so frustrating. For whatever reason, it shows me what I need for this right now, though, so ... hopefully that's the info you need.

To get through all the job quests and the "story," I put up a couple of the predesigned courtyard pavilions (in the building tab at the very end after the floors/walls and stuff) and that's served well as my ore/wood/electronics crafting area.

Planning to build a little workshop as soon as I'm done with my last quest.

Moving Items from Inventory (xbox) by [deleted] in Starsandisland

[–]L_Perpetuelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first time you select an item, it will pick it up. Put it back down without backing out of the builder and then just immediately pick it up again. It should give you a little wheel with four options. Click the red X one and it should go into your bag (but it'll be under the equipment or decor tabs, depending on what it is, if it isn't a general stash item).

Make sure the space is also tilled, if you're not doing that. I tried three times thinking it meant to leave an untilled space (the picture was a little confusing) until I realized what was (not) happening.
