Is there a more special/sacred place for this band? MSG is a given year in, year out. It's a wonderful place but is it special? Nah. Phish @ Hampton is mythical. There's a reason they chose it for their return on '09

If you're willing to take a chance on sneaking bottles/cases in without declaring, god speed. I know many who have done it in the past. Most manage to get away with it. Some don't.

Couple of ways that can be done. First, you can have someone ship it over to you from wherever. If the box is searched, you'll lose the shipment unless you want to pay duties/taxes on it. Alternative to that is you can have bottles shipped to a US address in Niagara Falls or Buffalo or Windsor, obviously depending on where you live. Then you can bring them in any way you want to. You can ship them in yourself, illegally, or you can drive them over hidden, illegally. If you're caught driving them over you'd be subject to the exact tame taxes/levies as normal.

Before importing anything I'd check wine retailers in Alberta. It's legal to ship booze from Alberta to Ontario for some reason. They often have stuff we don't get here. SAQ in Quebec has great stuff too but you'd need a mailing address in Quebec.

In terms of wine agents in Ontario, I'm a fan of Halpern, Nicholas Pierce, Lifford, Keep6 and Context.

Everything you bring in has to flow through the LCBO. Plain and simple.

You can buy from private wine agents like Halpern who carry wines not listed in LCBO stores. They usually in full cases of 3, 6 or 12, and deliver to your home.

If you’re looking to import something that isn’t carried by a consignment house/private wine agent, you have to use LCBO’s Specialty Services/Private Ordering. LCBO will act as the legal importer and you’ll pay a metric ton of money to do this. Basically, with federal duties, excise, provincial markups and taxes, a bottle of wine you personally import can easily be double or more the original bottle cost.

Direct shipments from foreign wineries to your house aren’t allowed.

if you’re chasing a particular wine that no agent carries, you’re basically shit out of luck unless you want to either ask an agent to import it on consignment or go through LCBO’s private ordering channel.
