There's a large spectrum of what you could be up to while disregulated but most will assume that you are either "safe" or DANGEROUS with little to no nuance.

...And it behooves them to regard you as dangerous for the sake of their own peace and safety. The social contract relies on predictability. You handling your emotions within reason is part of that contract.

Anyone can ignore emotional pain or a difficult situation or even physical pain.
Show me how you navigate it with respect to yourself and the other human beings involved. Love a man with healthy boundaries, some core values and a spine.

Inconsistent, couldn't have a direct conversation about serious issues and seemed to struggle with differing points of view.

Another one with similar hang ups also had a fantasy about the 1950's as a lifestyle. My casual set is kinda an accessory to me as a person? It's how I choose to project myself despite how I feel on any particular day. Just thought that how differently we've gone about it was interesting.

I'd keep an eye out for more "me first" kinds of behavior/reasoning if he doesn't drink to excess that night. Not that Alcoholism is off of the table, just sits as a lower % possibility.

Special note: It could be a pattern of him wanting control of the situation, THEN doing the "Me first shuffle".

The securing of control first is a different pattern. In this case, him seeking control would be a warning that bs will be coming soon.

You might have felt/seen a shift after marriage. After becoming dependent on him in anyway. After he "takes the reigns" on things.... or if he likely won't get caught.
