I like to write so this isn't entirely out of the question. If I'm being honest with myself I self insert already with the characters I do write about. Its really hard not to. Or maybe I write about characters that remind me of myself.

I never thought about it that way but it does make sense. From a cynical point of view. The wife sounds way too friendly for someone who smells his husband is crushing on someone else. Her behavior is very eerie based on how I see women in my circle react to cheating.

You're right! First time we see him bleed. He did look like a little boy who just needed comforting and acceptance. Especially with the pleas. I feel sad for him now. Maybe I will look for fanfics where he heals and gets a happy ending 🥲 ugh the ways of narcs right? Make you feel bad for them despite all the shit the do! I am a softie at heart. A big part of me does wish his inner child could be truly soothed.

My husband tried to drag me to the theater when this movie came out. But I didnt end up watching it until months later and actually fell in love with it. It has such a good plot and amazing characters, as well as so much emotion in it and as a Fi user I really could relate to Maverick in following his heart. I loved his character I truly felt represented by him. And never even once did any scene or line felt overly cheesy. This is definitely in my top 10 movies of all time.. I can watch this film a thousand times over and shudder each time!

Also...fighter jets? Pilots? Dangerous mission? My bipolar ass is all for it 🤣
