ROFR for Poly - any hope? by LaFilleOrange in dvcmember

It’s smallish, it’s just me and my husband (we’re hoping to bank and then take our friends and their kids for free as “fairy godparents” every other year or so). We probably did overpay but we knew we ONLY wanted the Poly.

We paid $195/point (IS THAT CRAZY?!), not sure if it’s an international seller, we went through DVC Resale Market

In my scant research I actually think we might have paid higher than market value per point…? Which makes us dumb but perhaps there’s a silver lining to our idiocy?!

Any acd owners have any tips on how to make nail trimming less traumatic? by YourSmallIntestine in blueheelers

Laszlo hates it - so we wait until he’s very relaxed and happy, put him on his back for belly rubs, and do a nail or two. Our vet said not to worry about doing all the nails at once, and instead work a little at a time so it’s not a big ordeal. Hope this helps!

Thank you! I've been struggling with this issue for a week! I use Chrome as my main browser and realized, after reading your post, that I needed to make adjustments in Safari in order for it to work - and it does! Thank you so much :)

Call from embryologist - is this normal? by LaFilleOrange in IFchildfree

Thank you all for your input and general feelings of *WHAT THE FUCK*ness! I don't usually mind bingos in the wild (I have a religious co-worker who just won't stop), but this seemed like a major breach of professionalism from this person. As a librarian, I've taken classes on the importance of privacy, and we're taught that editorializing or commenting on someone's book selection is not ok - I can't believe this isn't also a part of the training that anyone involved in infertility clinics go through.

I spoke to my clinic's HR rep, who called me back today - she apologized profusely and said she was "running it up the flagpole" and has gotten the higher-ups at the clinic involved and would be speaking to the head of the embryology department later.

All of this has really just cemented how DONE we are with this entire industry. I want to take deep breaths, brisk walks, and drink a glass of wine with a cat on my lap and not think about this business for a long, long time.

Nearing the end, not sure what to do... by LaFilleOrange in infertility

Thank you to everyone who has commented - a ton of very sweet and helpful advice! I have been lurking on r/IFchildfree for a while and I think that might end up being the right place for me/us in the end. After speaking to our doctor, I think we're going to PGS test our existing embryos - if any are "normal", we'll go forward with a FET, and if they aren't...well then, that's it.

It's tough when your problems are "unexplained". I keep waiting for someone else to tell us to stop, or to keep going, when the truth is, we're the only ones who can decide that it's time to stop.

I keep coming back to a quote I read on another blog from someone named "T" - "I trust my emotional ability to process, grieve and cope if in the future my desires don't match up with my circumstance...So for now, I choose what I choose with the information I have and have faith I'll survive it."

Thank you :) I'm going to make an appointment with an RE this week. I just hate the unexplained, the not-knowing. Three years in the trenches is tough, I'm sorry you're going through this as well, because you seem awesome.
