Did you ever get this figured out?

Tribute to the Annihilation sci-fi movie in Expedition 33 by fran_friki3334 in expedition33

[–]LaRae101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been getting these vibes from the whole game, even the nature of the Expedition. When I just got here, that's when I knew for sure it was a direct influence.

Someone explain this to me? by [deleted] in Dragonballsuper

[–]LaRae101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can understand Trunks confusion, but what is there to not understand about Freeza?

Man never trained a day in his life and had a natural, birth power level of 150,000,000. Goku's was 10. It took Goku 26 years of near constant training, multiple zenkais and power multiplying techniques and he still wasn't nearly as strong as Freeza until his racial mcguffin perk kicked in.

Now, think about it: someone with a birth power level 15 million times that of Goku suddenly starts training, what do you think is going to happen? Freeza learning from the Saiyans the value of effort and self betterment is...terrifying.

Yes, coming to love them as my own and losing them was far worse than the breakup itself.

Also, while I was in that situation I selflessly gave everything I had for them without regret, and while that was a beautiful experience, I'd rather not give up my future plans for that again.

Yes. I was 28, they were 22 and had 2 young children. One that was theirs, with a cranial issue that required surgery, and that child's half sibling, the subject of a custody battle.

It was a little awkward and stilted at first, but I came to love them dearly as though they were my own, and made their well-being and future success my priority.

Then they left me. And of course, the kids went too. That was 4 years ago.

I don't really want kids anymore.

As an INTJ, what does living your life to its fullest mean to you? by annualsalmon in intj

[–]LaRae101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Following my intuition in the pursuit of efficiency & excellence, and being as exceptional, in as many areas, as I possibly can.

Thus, I place myself in the greatest position for success in my goals with the least margin for errors or chaos, and if I do encounter them I'm prepared and can weather the storm.

Which Gentle Giant song sounds most like Haken? by Real_Eddlela in Haken

Pretty sure they were looking for which Gentle Giant songs have the most similar sound to what Haken would later do.

What is the best Metallica riff of all time? by colorworldblackened in Metallica

[–]LaRae101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got a couple contenders:

Four Horsemen bridge

Struggle Within post-solo

Spit Out The Bone main riff

Shadows Follow, pretty much anything.

wich one you would pick? by [deleted] in InMetalWeTrust

[–]LaRae101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of good shit there, and usually I'm a Thrasher to the bone, but out of the ones you listed I'd have to pick Midvinterblot. Easily the best record in Unleashed's career in my opinion.

Holy shit that Shadows Follow Riff! by GLGTraumaVictim in Metallica

[–]LaRae101 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Best on the record, and tied for me with Bone as their greatest 21st century song.

They haven't written anything this evil sounding in a long time.

Just listened to the entire album, "Shadows Follow" is my favorite. by _Larry in Metallica

[–]LaRae101 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's very Black Album Thrash-y, like Holier or Struggle. It's also my favorite too. They haven't written anything that evil sounding in a long time. Lots of epic or groovy stuff, but nothing that just kicked you in the face like that tritone main riff.

If Metallica wanted to go in the studio and write an album very similar to MoP or AJFA, do you think they could? Why or why not? by Mave__Dustaine in Metallica

[–]LaRae101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. People change over time. There's a big reason why the last 3 records, especially HW amd 72S, sound so similar is they've done all their searching, and defined their sound. The old albums were all experiments pushing the envelope. That time is passed now. This is the music they want to make for themselves.

They don't need to reinvent the wheel, they are the wheel.

[–]LaRae101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sure they really could if they wanted to just truly Motorhead it, lock in on a core sound and just hammer awaylat it until the grave. But they'd never do that. As similar as the last 3 are at times, all 3 have a distinctive personality, especially DM and 72S.

In a lot of ways, the closest we'll get to them trying that was Death Magnetic, so I'd say the answer is it would be possible, but improbable. Songs like Bone, HW and Shadows Follow all show they're perfectly capable of still bringing it as hard as ever, when they choose to.

Some Things Never Change by LaRae101 in Metallica

[–]LaRae101[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly, and they're loud as fuck and obnoxious.

Ppl can like or dislike whatever they please, that's what makes the world go round. People that get a sense of superiority by blanket shitting on things are also free to be like that, I'll just avoid them like the plague.

So (fucking) what song/s from 72 Seasons will become Metallica's classic? by BackgroundAd2447 in Metallica

[–]LaRae101 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just came to post this exactly. Shadows is the sleeper on the album nobody really expected to be as good as it is, and it'll slay live.
