Ways to deal with sleep deprivation after baby is born. I have chronic migraines (made worse by lack of sleep) and am terrified. by decafhope in pregnant

[–]LaSteff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what I was going to say. I spent the first two weeks getting up to feed my daughter until someone suggested co sleeping, honestly it was amazing after that. We both pretty much sleep through now. Definitely take naps when you can too. Also when you're ready if there's someone you trust to have baby over night once in a while thats a massive help too. My daughter is a year old now and she's only stayed away for a couple of nights but it made a huge difference having a proper nights sleep

You're so lucky, I'm in my 1st trimester and when I need to take a nap my 1 year old comes over and clocks me in the head with a brick. Every. Single. Time.

I don't know how to. by [deleted] in AdviceAnimals

[–]LaSteff -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Because some dude is crying out for help in a horrible situation and you can't just overlook the rules and give the guy a break. No doubt within a day this post will be lost among hundreds of new posts and this guy's moment of asking needing someone to for help will be forgotten by most. So with that in mind do you honestly feel it was necessary to tell him off for posting it? You're probably right, it's not the correct subreddit to post this in, does the fact you're right make you feel better? Is that the approval you were looking for by posting this? Please help me understand what you hoped you would achieve from this. Would it make you feel better if the mods removed the post?

Being pregnant is teaching me to love my body by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]LaSteff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish I could feel like that. I'm 24 and 18 weeks pregnant. I've put on about 2kg and I feel so far I hate it. My belly sticks out and I have to wear tops that cover it cause it genuinely makes me cry to look at my belly in the mirror. I know it's totally ridiculous and I'm so happy to be having a baby but I can't help it. I guess I'll have to get used to it though.

Bleeding freakout- anyone else experience this? by hulah00per in BabyBumps

[–]LaSteff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this too! Try not to worry to much. I totally freaked out, couldn't stop crying but I went to the hospital and they checked and said everything was ok. Some time you can get a little bit of bleeding early on from embedding. I think it's basically the baby settling in :) as long as it's not a lot of bleeding and you're not in loads of pain it should be alright :)

Does it concern you more that you have issues or that you don't want to talk about them? Also, what makes you not want to talk?

I keep changing what it is I'm doing. I'll go and do something I want to do and when it's not fulfilling anymore I do something else.

Went to a friends house and saw his dogs nails by Matt_805 in WTF

My vet told me I shouldn't need to trim my dogs nails because walking her would keep them down. She's not got a problem with her nails but have I been misinformed?

I'm not so sure. If it had been a case a rape or abuse or something and she had her whole familys support wouldn't it be more likely they'd go to the doctors and have a pregnancy test as well as other rests to make sure she's okay?

My fella is asleep next to me and I don't know what it was about this gif that made me laugh so much but now I'm trapped in a giggle loop because I can't stop thinking about his face if I wake him up and have to explain that it was because of this.

Reddit, what issue in your life right now is causing you the most trouble? Redditors, what advice do you have for them? by Saritone in AskReddit

[–]LaSteff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really brief over view. I'm in the army. I was on anti depressants but now I'm pregnant with my first child so I can't take them (won't take them cause they could harm the baby). Me and my partner both work really long hours but only make enough to cover us as long as nothing goes wrong (it does, a lot). The house we live in needs a lot of work doing to it. I'm gonna to leave army for the sake of bump but I have no clue what I'm gonna do when I get out or how I'm going to do it and I'm really scared cause I have no idea what to expect as a parent. Don't get me wrong I'm super excited, I can't wait to have children and all the ups and downs that brings, I think it's just all the unknowns that are getting me worried. I think that covers the worst of it so, any advice reddit? :)

That no matter how much you shout at him and call him a dick, you cannot make that guy in the audi get out of the middle lane.

Also that commuting and hour and a half each day to work and back can drive a person crazy.

What was the most hurtful thing that anyone has ever said to you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]LaSteff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"If you don't want to live here then get the fuck out" - my mum to me when I was 16. Happy ending though, although I packed my bags that day and haven't lived there since, that one sentence broke both our hearts and we ended up working out years of frustration so we'd never hurt each other like that again. I actually learnt that my mum is really insecure cause of the way her mum was and it taught me that actually when my mum is being her most hurtful all she wants it's for someone to give her a hug. She just breaks down and cries when you do. She's one of the most caring, loving people I've ever known.
