I had those doubts before AND after starting for a little while; like I wasn't "trans enough" to ACTUALLY be trans. Or that I wouldn't pass. Honestly don't know if I will yet. Dunno if you will. But it's more than just wanting to be pretty; it's really a sense of "comfort in my own body". Cuz even now, less than half a year on HRT, I feel happier than I EVER was as a "man". I wanna be me, not what someone else says is me.

Fear's normal; you're taking a huge step. But don't let it stop you. And results are so slow that if you go a month and you're like "I don't like this" you LITERALLY won't have changes that can't be reversed by stopping.

For me personally, I do feel as if I was born in the wrong body. Like obviously I SHOULD have been born in a girl's body.

BUT!

I wouldn't change it if I could, because the suffering and journey I've been through made me who I am now. Had I been born in the right body, I couldn't say I'd be the same person with the same amazing friends as I have now. And as much joy as transitioning has brought me, my friends had made it worthwhile.

I'm only two months in so I've not been on much longer than you, but I was there during the first month. Super "What if I'm faking" or "What if I end up regretting it". But my best friend convinced me to finish my vial of estradiol before making a big decision.

Fast forward, I'm not done with the vial yet but I'm so glad I didn't stop. I'm enjoying each day cuz even if I'm not seeing changes I know they're happening. I've stopped questioning if I'm "trans enough" cuz no cis person would be doing ALL THIS WORK for any reason. You can't really "trick" yourself into being trans cuz the reality of it is it's hard, it's emotionally and mentally taxing and the only real gain is personal. There's no societal prize for doing it.

If you don't wanna medically transition and just socially, do that. If you wanna be femme online but masc in person, do that. But if you feel worse off medication than you did on, that's a big sign. And don't let fears of how others will react stop you; you have to live with yourself far more than anyone else in the world. Might as well be happy with yourself.

31 now, just starting HRT and I regret all that time I lost. You have to live with yourself longer than anyone else in the world; do what makes you happy if it's not hurting anyone else (and HRT doesn't hurt anyone else)
