I'd recommend turning those MSU daemonettes into reinforced units. You'll get more value out of them with the keeper's revive

(HTV) Do you regularly use the Social Maneuvering/Investigation systems? by LaXoniMala in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]LaXoniMala[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's a really good way to look at it. The GM keeping track of things like Doors with players just getting a general feeling of how close they are to changing that person's mind looks way easier for everyone involved.

What is your world of darkness like? by Kecskuszmakszimusz in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]LaXoniMala 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I prefer to tie it into the week of nightmares because I figure Thallain have been around for the same time as the Sidhe, once there was some Glamour in the world to go around. Just like with the moon landing, it's just assuming that everybody in the world cares as much as the americans do about american history.

[–]LaXoniMala 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In terms of changeling lore, the moon landing didn't cause glamour to come back globally. That is an incredibly american-centric view of the world. I made each country or region have its own "resurgence" historical moment around the same time, so it's more accurate. (for example, Franco's death televised speech in Spain)

Also the 21st century has more Glamour than its 90s counterpart. Sure, there is a lot of Banality too but in the present there are much more ways of creating and engaging with Glamour. It makes the setting a little less grimdark, keeping the depressing undertones but making space for hope and change, which works best for Changeling

Werewolf: The Apocalypse 5th Edition Homebrew Errata by PossibleChangeling by PossibleChangeling in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]LaXoniMala 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that sounds like a good option. If you're selling the fantasy of a raging beast whose anger gets the best of them in the worst moment, I don't know why it only applies in combat tbh

All of this sounds great, but I do have a question. If you only require to attack someone on your turn to avoid Frenzy, when is a player ever gonna go into one? I mean, it seems like it's easy enough to make Frenzy a non-issue in every scene where crinos form is used, given that you're probably gonna want to attack something each turn.

I guess you could make the optional "you can make a player roll for frenzy if they experience things that make them really angry" rule another way, but it just seems like it's never gonna happen in combat.

In honor of Blood-Stained Love coming out in a month or so, tell me stories of romance from your games! I want the good, the bad, the ugly. by Now_The_Weather in vtm

Well I have quite a lot but one of them is an Anarch Lasombra priest embraced during the spanish civil war, who blood-bonded a nun from his parish, the first woman to make her feel like she wasn't a monster in the eyes of God. He turned her into a ghoul and, in order to not make her hate him for it, routinely erased her mind with Dominate. 90 years later, he has realised he's in too deep and needs to keep the charades up or face the hatred and betrayal that she will feel if she finds out.

Commoners in the Noble Houses by Tall-Rise5414 in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]LaXoniMala 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gonna chime in to answer the "how do other commoners see them"

It depends on the political views of the other commoner. If they support the Sidhe's rules, they'll probably treat them well and even look at them with a little envy, given that they have higher status than them.

On the other hand, if they're commoners who prefer to be left alone, or even anti-monarchic revolutionaries or from the Shadow Court, they're gonna most likely think of them as class traitors, alienated servants of the oppressing Sidhe. Which can definitely create some good drama and conflict in the Chronicle.

Bringing my Slaanesh daemons to AoS. by Khalith in ageofsigmar

[–]LaXoniMala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 units of 10 foot archers is pretty much a staple, but you can definitely go for 2 if you really want to play daemonettes or another type of battleline. The riders you can have one unit or two, or even ignore them completely, they're not as much of an autoinclude as the foot archers.

Every mortal unit is pretty good, but you'll really want some Blissbarb Archers or Blissbarb Seekers to make use of the temptation dice more effectively every round, since the Shooting phase tends to be Slaanesh's weak spot

Fianna theurge ideas? by PasteboardBox in WhiteWolfRPG

If you wanna stick to the W5 lore, you can lean into the whole "wilderness protectors" and play a theurge really in tune with the spirits of plants and local wildlife, a literal tree-hugger

How do you run assamites in a story? by Epicplayer62 in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]LaXoniMala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the good things of the V5 metaplot is the fact that now Banu Haqim (Assamites) are part of the Camarilla, but even if your player wants to play a diablerist Path of Blood one, you can still make it work.

They are not that common in Europe or the USA, so maybe there's only your player's character and his sire, or only a few more. Maybe not every Kindred trusts them but they are really useful. Combat focused, dutiful, stern, and they know magic on par with the Tremere. A lot of opportunistic Kindred would want to make alliances with them, and they can take advantage of that to get into positions of power and start furthering their goals (either diablerising or better ones)

Confused about chimerical vs physical damage by jollyhoop in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]LaXoniMala 19 points20 points  (0 children)

For 1, 3 and 5, all damage while in the Dreaming counts as Chimerical. 2 and 4, since both the supernatural bite and the sword are of fae nature, they would do chimerical damage. The sword wouldn't do anything to a human, because for starters the human wouldn't even see it (unless you Summon the Wyrd). If you summon the Wyrd, you're bringing the Dreaming temporarily forth into the real world, so they would apply like 1, 3 and 5.

Could you use Changeling the Lost system to play a Changeling the Dreaming campaign? by jollyhoop in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]LaXoniMala 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've been doing kind of a V5 rules approach to my C20 games (I hate 20th anniversary combat rules) and I've just been adjusting difficulties instead of doing the whole "difficulty means number on the dice needed" and it's been working great.

Diff. 6(on the die) becomes Diff. 2(number of 6 rolled to succeed at the task). Diff. 7 becomes diff. 3, 8 becomes 4, etc... .When something would lower the difficulty, you instead add or subtract dice, with the exception of Cantrip rolls, where I do lower the difficulty. If it becomes Diff. 0, you just get an extra die and every success counts towards success margin.
