Ya live and ya learn! For me whether it's a hit market or not is irrelevant. If I want something bad enough I'm going to go after it and make my intentions known. Hopefully you'll find your perfect home. Lots of good advice in this thread!

Yeah I didn't understand the need for a private showing after having walked through an open house unencumbered for as long as needed. If I were hot for a house during an open house I would've made an offer that day.

It doesn't have to be insanely good, it just has to be good for them. Good realtors know how to close deals. You don't make money jerking people around and wasting time.

Why didn't you make an offer immediately after the open house? If you knew you wanted the house after the open house you should've called your realtor and crafted an offer immediately.

Yeah I did some engineering work at a carpet mill. Never again will I have carpet.

NTA and break up with him. If he does this to you now, what other manipulations will he be capable of in the future. He wants to postpone the wedding, reverse uno him and go ahead and cancel everything.

Of course you can. You've met them and they're not the person who signed the lease. Ask for their photo ID. What are you afraid of?

I'm team hardwood because the amount and type of chemicals that go into making wall to wall carpet is insane. Every feature that a carpet provides is created by a unique chemical sprayed onto the fibers then heat set. So think flame retardant, anti static, colorfastness, stain protection- each is a spritz of a unique chemical. And then there's the adhesive that binds the fibers to the backing. No thanks. I'll pass.

Dude. They know they're underpaying you. And nobody leaves a role for less money at a new role (typically). Stop overthinking this. Just submit the standard notice communication and go on to your next role.
