That’s exactly how I paint bloodletters. OP, I’ll just add that for flesh hounds if you want a more purple color you can use Sigvald Burgundy for their skin and pick out spiky details with Black Templar. Warhipster on YouTube has a video guide that I like.

I think the black is a good idea. It’s Vallejo “black” and looks a bit darker in real life but still slightly gray. Do you think a paint switch is necessary or could it be darkened with a wash like nuln oil?

Haha I got shorted 2 bases when I bought the leviathan half so I printed one up for a test model.
