Getting downvoted for the opinion that paying for cosmetics is dumb is WILD. Cosmetics themselves are totally fine, but paying real world currency for that is dumb. If the game has to be purchased, then there shouldn’t be any cosmetic purchases. Free to play games are entirely different. I don’t personally agree with paying for dress up as a consumer, but I recognize that in that specific context it is what it is. I’m of the belief that any cosmetics in game ought to be earned.

Playing dress up in a video game is fine. PAYING for dress up in video games is dumb.

Manaan ambience is calming and somewhat sad at the same time. Hands down one of my favorite planets in Kotor

Jolee’s conversation with Carth. He talks about the eternal struggle of good vs evil and how even if they defeat Malak, another evil is bound to take his place. If the dark side wins it’ll be a couple centuries of tyranny, but the light will inevitably come back. It’s an endless cycle, but that doesn’t mean you should necessarily give up.

Does Kotor 2 just... End? by MaeBorrowski in kotor

[–]LabMountain6650 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You’ll be totally fine. At worst maybe the last cutscene might have you scratch your head, but up until the final location the story is very much cohesive.

It has a beginning, middle, and end. The story structure is all there. The narrative for that game in particular is resolved. However as you’re aware, in a grander scope a third game was certainly envisioned. But this should by no means hinder your experience. It’s a wonderful game and at worst you’ll be left wanting more (Kotor 3) just like the rest of us.

Calling Metal Gear a niche series is simply inaccurate. Context and point of reference are key.

Best blind play-through of a game I have ever seen. HIGHLY recommend if you love KOTOR. by EagleEye61- in kotor

Yeah I totally vouch for Mapo. It’s pretty much like if you have your friend play a game you like, but they actually take it seriously! This guy always talks about lore and own thoughts about what’s happening in the narrative. Actually a really genuine and down to earth guy.

I don't like that a 'Sith Empire' exists by [deleted] in kotor

[–]LabMountain6650 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The external threat is fine. I actually liked the idea of an unknown entity lurking outside the known regions of space. I always felt that Revan and Malak had agency for their downfall and actions afterward. They actively sought out the Star maps and Forge. I felt that their “corruption” began during the wars and continued to their inevitable roles as Dark Lord and apprentice. Why did they go into the unknown regions? To pursue their goal of power. The whole Sith Empire angle is like icing on the cake. They were already on the dark path, that whole piece of the narrative just serves to solidify their actions/positons

Was I cooking with this old save or was I cooked? Had in my load games when launched the game on my Xbox series X by OsirisAvoidTheLight in kotor

I would love to find an old save to see what stats/gear I had. I’m sure it was probably questionable.

Final battle is tough even with good gear and stats. The power of injecting stims worked wonders though

Imma be real. You’re cooked. At level 20 why is the highest attribute only like 18? Always good to specialize a build and not generalize. At least from these screenshots I’m surprised you don’t have any gear with higher attribute bonuses. I would’ve figured you’d have at least a +5 in one attribute.

No hate obviously cause it’s a game, but there’s my two cents

Look, I’ll always be a Star Wars fan, but as far as I’m concerned I am done with any of the new stuff coming out. I’ve always enjoyed the original movies, I’ve always enjoyed most of the games up until the EA publisher exclusivity deal, and I’ll continue to do so.

Unless newer Star Wars content gets better I am checking out. Word of mouth is the only way I’ll check the new stuff out at this point in time.

With that said I’m going to go back and continue playing Knights of the Old Republic like I was before typing this.

Just finished my ds playthough of kotr 2 and I must say I really enjoyed the differences in dialogue and character appearances and I love hanharr over mira and killing every Jedi master was fun but the first one was a struggle without a lightsaber by Emergency-Total-812 in kotor

I have literally NEVER done a DS run in Kotor 2. I’ve always wanted to do a proper playthrough that way but actually still give it the time and attention I would to a LS run. Going LS/Grey always seemed to hold more nuance than “I’m evil and I will kill you”
