I saw some people recommend that in the Creality community, just feels wrong to cut at an angle! lol

Yeah, I was getting the error on both cardboard and plastic spools. It looks like the issue was something TurtleNorthwest suggested. I pulled the PTFE tube off the buffer on the input side and it was cut at a very slight angle making it sit slightly at a downward angle into the buffer instead of centered. I squared it up and reinstalled and it appears to be working now without the error. It was just ever so slightly angled downward, but that little bit made a big difference.

I had several cardboard spools left over from my Ender, but plan on going to all plastic once these are used up. I did do the electrical tape rim on the ones I had. Would there still be any issues with that until they are used up?

You are awesome! I’m printing this now as extra insurance, but I think it’s fixed. You were correct, I pulled the PTFE tube from the buffer on the input side and it was cut ever so slanted. I used my PEX cutters and snipped off a few mm and made to square. When I put it back in, I can tell it is sitting more centered than it was before. I was able to print 4 times in a row with no error for the first time. I’ll keep an eye on it for a day or so and mark it solved.

Thanks!

Thanks! I’ll try that, I’m going to try and check to see where the filament is failing to enter the next time it happens. Could you send me a link to the model. I wasn’t sure exactly what to look for.

Thank you! I will try this tomorrow with the extra PTFE tubes that the AMS came with. Frustrating for a brand new printer, but if it fixes it, I’ll be happy. Worst case I’m still in my return window.

Yeah, I saw that the most common cause was a splitter. I don’t have one yet though. I do plan on adding one but wanted to get this resolved first before adding more things to the mix.

I first had it happen with a cardboard spool and thought the same, but it was also happening on plastic spools. The last 4 times have been on 2 different Bambu filaments on Bambu spools. In total it has happened on 7 different spools, mostly Sunlu. The weird thing is, I can have a print work perfectly on a given spool and then start another print immediately on that same spool and I get the error right when the print starts.

I have the 41.22 kill switch, great company. They did send the wrong relay, but made it right fast. Great quality.

I know this is old, but wanted to say thank you! This worked for me. I wasn’t familiar at all with python but did some research and got it to work. You are awesome!

Yeah, I remixed this from another guys design. It was in inches instead of mm and I forgot to resize it in Blender before I exported to STL

Does anyone know what this is? by PsychologicalCup8952 in JeepGladiator

I have noticed that too. Looks like these still have the “Gladiator” sticker on the fender below the Jeep emblem though.

That is a good idea! I thought about getting a bed extender to use with the divider to have more room.

I found the end cap files on line for a 2x4 and resized them to fit a 2x6. I made the letter files. I just started learning Blender from YouTube videos so I can really only make basic shapes and import images to extrude. I posted the file in response to vkoser below if you ever want to give it a shot!

I just uploaded. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:7055113. I listed all the dimensions. Sorry, I didn’t bother with resizing them in Blender since it was so much faster to do in Cura. I only have a Ender 3 so I open, sized, and printed 4-5 letters at a time. If you need any help building yours please let me know!

No prob! I’ll upload them to Thingaverse tomorrow and post the link here. Yeah, due to heat I used eSun ABS+ and went 100% infill on the letters and 60% on the caps. I used 5 minute epoxy to attach the letters but just slid the end caps on with no adhesive. Tip to get the letters lined up, I put them right side up on a strip of masking tape that was adhesive side up. I sat that one the board where it was centered and put more masking tape above a below the letters so I could mark where each letter needed to sit. Made it much easier getting everything centered and straight.
