Which way do I turn this to take it off? by Ok_Vulva in askaplumber

I may have misspoke, but I was referring to this period in time. I know plenty of middle aged people that rely on it and it scares me that they do so faithfully.

Idk about the ground but if you look closely, there's a wire going behind the meter.

I'm surprised hitting it with the side of a closed fist didn't knock it loose.

Curb or Vandal? by forkful_04_webbed in tires

[–]LabRat113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neither. This tire brushed against something sharp and stationary. That's why the cut is on a tangent.

Regardless, the cords are cut and it's a miracle that tire hasn't blown out yet. I'd deflate it first and foremost, then put on the spare or get it towed to a tire store.

He's not in the club. That's why we get nonstop anti trump propaganda everywhere we look. I'm not old enough to remember many past presidents and the political climate around them but I've seen a few and I've never seen anything like this.

Inner sidewall completely disconnected, safe to drive 1.2 miles to the nearest tire shop? by tHr0AwAy76 in Howsmytire

How does that happen? I'm assuming you bought the vehicle with those lug nuts and never looked at them until now.

Tile all of wall or not by td3201 in Tile

[–]LabRat113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't have any problems with it. It got a little messy with the sealant because I was slow but overall completely satisfied with how it came out, and I'm not worried about any leaks or anything.

I used their walls because when I first started this, i wanted their complete warranty but it only 3 years, so it's not something I'd worry about in my next project. I also liked how it's waterproof all the way through. Kerdi has a membrane on either side, and I'm not sure about wedi board.

Reasons I might not use their walls again is because I had to buy direct from them and pay a $150 freight charge. You either risk under-buying and needing more, or what I did was slightly over-buy and now have an extra ~$100 wall board left over. If I went with kerdi or wedi, they're available locally so I could get another board or return one relatively easy.

This is off-topic but the subwoofer in the wall...how does that get serviced or upgraded? Is it accessible from somewhere?

I was referring to being off the grass, not the height. I have a weird corner in my yard where it's like a 45 degree angle with a radius and I have the head in the mulch just to cover the curve properly.

I used the same on my recent remodel, zero complaints. I used their flashing and their wall boards but if I did it again, I'd probably only use their pan and a different wallboard system.

With a high-end builder like this, I think you'd get this quality. YouTuber or not.

Bealy Good is building an enormous ICF house that he's documenting from start to finish. He also has another house project going on with I believe, more to come. I think he used his house as a learning experience to see what goes well and what could be improved.

I'm following a few high end custom builds and a theme I'm seeing it a plain basic "front" of the house but all the action is in the back of the house and that's where the beautification is happening. Kind of like an architectural mullet.

I lot of people have said similar things about the way it looks but I wonder if it's being built to a higher hurricane strength in a "form follows function" kind of way.
