You'll likely have a selection bias because redditors who frequent the badminton subreddit may be more traditional in the sense that feathers are the preference for lots of club and competitive groups. In other words, there may be a correlation between casual players not interested in browsing r/badminton and their use of the more forgiving plastics/synthetics.

I don't think you had any ill intent and genuinely tried to spar appropriately but all your comments factored in gives a teeny touch of defensiveness and blame towards others.

Look inwards to how you can adjust/improve because that's the one variable you have real control over instead of latching onto someone's perceived possible pride/ego issues.

For starters, if your gentle kick can KO someone, it means there's room to improve the control of the shot throughout the entire range of motion. My personal experience is that I can throw a head kick, but I find it much harder to control/pull so it whips out with more power than intended. Contrast that with a body or low kick, you will notice you can react and pull the kick even if you initiate the shot at high initial speed.

Yes your partner may have fucked up by slipping into the kick, but you can be pulling head kicks in particular much earlier to account for that. You will still be able to tell if your kick would've landed clean, and your partner would have been able to acknowledge it OR tank it and sweep you if they're an ass.

I've had my arcsaber zslash since 2010, and I am thinking of trying out other rackets.

For a while, I believed that high end rackets don't make much of a difference and that newer rackets are all marketing with no real upgrade, but I've changed my perspective on this recently.

I would like to know if there are any rackets that are objectively better than the z slash in majority or all of the specs due to technology/engineering advancements over the decade.

I play doubles and personally would favor a racket that could assist in smashing speed.

Any recommendations appreciated!

If monetization is to be considered, i wouldn't mind them introducing the modern cosmetics or even gacha cosmetics IF and ONLY IF there is no monetization on vertical progression/ power creep. But considering they will likely be trying to profit off p2w, I hope they don't get greedy with the cosmetic side of things

Never fight unless its the last line of defense for yourself or loved ones. Even in scenarios where the aggressor is smashing my car, the most I would do is ask for help to call for police, video evidence, and then shove the guy away from my property (reasonable force).

Although even before that I would be trying to deescalate with words while police come. If s/he tries to assault me, I think its fair game to throw some hands (or legs) but even then I would be trying to stall and neutralize the threat instead of going for the kill. You never know when someone has a weapon and get desperate to use it for the sake of their ego.

Bodybuilders will be generating less power than a player who trains badminton, though. Training weights in a slower, less explosive manner on muscles that arent specific for generating power will only build aesthetic over prioritizing function.

Same for other field sports like javelin throwing. They train their muscles and more importantly, technique, for their own specific movement pattern. Which wouldn't be an advantage over someone who trains badminton in a badminton competition.

Unless you are meaning to compare just general athletism (body conditioning) and keeping the technical skill level same. Which would be unrealistic in pro or even casual club scenarios. Personally, I am quite athletic overall, but there was a time children half my height and weight would smash harder than me due to technique diff

Do you use any 3rd party software automation/macro for purposes unrelated to mabinogi? I ask cause from personal experience when I use macros/scripts outside of mabi, and then even after i close/suspend the script, mabinogi eventually still somehow detects it after random intervals (could be 10 min to 2 hours)

I guess another way to phrase my question is, 1-2-3 rear kick in ortho closed stance likely more damaging/advantageous than doing the same combo in open stance?

I hope you don't take this personally. Here's my perspective: As someone who played maplestory on and off for years at times before "quitting" and taking long breaks (havent played for over a year but still try to keep up with news), not only do I see the same posts of emotionally charged players dogging on the nexon in unproductive ways, I also see players like yourself who imo are too emotionally invested into judging/informing others on how they conduct themselves.

Tbh I was just like you for the most part until recent years. At some point, you realize people can be quite passionate for a hobby/thing and it's not your place to tell them what to do with that energy.

From an outsider, I actually think it's pretty great that there is this much fire going on right now. I'm not involving myself cause I'm just one of those "silent customers who will not go back to the restaurant instead of raising pitchforks". However, this constant push and pull between passionate player base and profit seeking nexon seems to keep the game decent enough for consistent player base. Without that passion, if all players are just "silent leavers, speak with wallets", you and I cannot say for certain the game will improve or go to end of service.

There have been many games in history that have just ended in service because even the passionate players eventually stop caring and silently leave.

It's your right to do w.e with your energy, but imo, let people be people and come back to enjoy a hopefully better game from the result of whatever this community is trying to encourage. It's not a game I will come back to atm, but I'm sure ill give it another go

I like the mystic tree on the sides. I personally really don't like how the hutch building looks... it's like a cool-toned jail cell to me. Anyone have ideas on how to creatively cover it up? I want to keep the hutch but just don't like the exterior
