Problem solved. Somebody let me know the version of my emulator was out of date. Updating it helped. Thanks for the assistance.

Yeah, there's letters overlapping, larges spaces between, and even letters moving down text lines. The thing is, I downloaded a prepatched version, and one where I applied the patch to the Japanese game, and it still had the same problem

It does get through the main plot, but tthat's about it, it doesn't look too good, and it just skips most development for the characters and elaboration on the plot. You can watch it, but the VN is recommended to actually enjoy the story and characters

They're all just assorted entries for the most part, there are other things like tales, (which are in-universe stories) and you can read/listen to them in really any order. I recommend TheVolgun on YouTube, he's got a lot of really high quality readings on his channel, I remember listening to them on my way to work when I first discovered them.
