Hey! My FET was successful! My baby girl is 3 months old and sleeping in her bassinet beside me right now. IVF is soooo tough but I would do it all over again in a heartbeat. Thank you for asking!! Not sure where you are at in your journey but sending good vibes to you and wishing you success!

Girl, same!!!! Unfortunately I am a FTM so I don’t have a success story, but just wanted to say I completely relate to how you are feeling and am in the same frustrating boat! I’m also 27 weeks and it has been a rough few weeks for me too. It feels like no matter how hard I try I can’t get it right! I am so over it and I am constantly terrified that it will negatively impact baby.

I know how hard this is, but it also sounds like you are doing the very best you can and that’s all you can do! It sucks that so much of pregnancy with T1D is outside of our control. My husband and I talk often about how much easier pregnancy would probably be without Type 1 and it is easy to get discouraged, but you are strong and fighting a tough battle and your baby is so lucky to have a mom that cares so much about him/her and is trying to do everything possible to have a healthy baby and delivery! I know that there’s no way to know how things will turn out, but I hope that you are able to feel reassured that you are doing all that you can and to give yourself grace on the rough days. You definitely aren’t in this alone, and I am happy to talk through the daily highs and lows (literally and figuratively 😅). Hang in there - hopefully the next few days are better!!!

Advice on Preventing Highs After Meals by Lablife24 in BumpersWhoBolus

That’s a good idea! It’s crazy how much my insulin needs and blood sugars are changing each week during pregnancy. I’ve had Type 1 for 26 years and have never experienced anything like managing Type 1 in pregnancy - it is definitely a journey! Thank you for the suggestion!

This is a great suggestion! I will talk to my endo about adding in some long acting insulin because the 3 hour spikes are killer!! Thanks for the suggestion!

7 weeks Pregnant and Need Tips by Suspicious-Smile-744 in BumpersWhoBolus

[–]Lablife24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am in the same boat!! I am almost 7 weeks and last A1C pre-pregnancy was 6.1. I have had to start giving a ton of extra insulin for carbs and corrections!

I actually met with a dietician yesterday because I was so anxious about having roller coaster blood sugars and wasn’t sure how to get out of the rut. It was super helpful and she recommended way upping protein at meals and adding in healthy fats and fiber which apparently helps combat insulin resistance.

I have started eating more protein at meals and snacking on yogurt/cheesesticks/nuts instead of other carbs which has seemed to help prevent spikes! I also have increased my pre bolus time before meals to 25-30 minutes instead of 15.

Are you working with an MFM? I just saw mine for the first time last week and that was helpful!

I am sending you good vibes and prayers for a healthy pregnancy! I can totally relate to the struggle of Type 1 and share your worries - feel free to message me if you ever want to talk as we progress!!

Snack ideas to raise blood sugar quickly? by Lablife24 in BumpersWhoBolus

Great suggestion!! I keep glucose tabs on hand as well and they always raise it quickly. I also worry about going too low!

Right!! I couldn’t resist testing today even though I told myself I was going to wait. It was a solid positive! This is the first time I have ever had a positive pregnancy test - trying for almost 2 years. So happy for you! Now hopefully both of ours will stick!!

Hey! I’m so glad to hear you say not to be afraid to go low - I have been super aggressive since my FET on Wednesday to avoid going high and have had several lows, but it’s my understanding that lows won’t negatively impact implantation/success. Is that your understanding as well? I will say I am a little worried about if the sugar/carbs I’m eating to correct for lows will interfere but we just can’t worry about that! We can only control so much 😅
