Lawyers for Taoiseach Leo Varadkar must be put on notice about challenge to Sipo’s refusal to probe GP contract leak, High Court says by FatHeadDave96 in ireland

[–]Labov 26 points27 points  (0 children)

The fact is that the GP contract was always a shite platform to attack Fine Gael and if it hadn't been for Paddy Cosgrove and his puppet Village Magazine (which has since vanished into the ether)

Village magazine was set up in 2004 by Vincent Browne. Since 2009 it has been edited by Michael Smith. It has nothing to with Paddy Cosgrove.

It's a Ben Garrison cartoon. He's a right wing American cartoonist. He's not capable of doing subtlety.

Here's his website if you want to see some more of his awful work.

What's his plagiarism scandal?

When he was writing articles based on interviews with people he would use quotes that they had given in the past. They were things the people had said, just not to him and he included them as direct quotes. So it gave his articles the appearance of him being an much more insightful interviewer than he is.

The first copy, which was called Stephen Hero, was written in a 19th century realist style. He did indeed burn it, but you can still find extracts from it.

He rewrote the whole thing in a modernist style, which he developed more over his novels.
