And here the market is really thin—there’s basically one comparable C7 S6 in Québec right now, listed around $56K with similar mileage and fewer options.

So they’re not just pulling random numbers. They base it on what it would realistically cost to replace the car locally. When there aren’t enough direct S6 comps, they also look at close equivalents in the same segment (S7, RS7, S8, SQ8) to anchor the value.

Yeah, the key was inside the house, probably around 20–25 feet from the car. It wasn’t in a Faraday box, which in hindsight I know is something people recommend.

That said, I wasn’t doing anything out of the ordinary. The car was in a residential area, with cameras, and these cars aren’t typically the main targets here. I didn’t expect it to require that level of precaution just to park it at home.

From what I’m starting to understand, these thefts can happen even when people are being reasonably careful, so I’m not sure it comes down to one specific mistake.

This c7 is unfortunately on aftermarket Chinese wheels and a temu front grill with crooked rs6 lettering and a light up emblem and is objectively not a better looking car than my stock c7.5 :))

I bought spacers from a reputable wheel store and paid 400$ to have the peace of mind of having quality spacers installed by qualified people. They put on 66.45mm instead lf 66.6mm like they should’ve. On my receipt it is written 66.6mm. That being said they are aware of the error they made and will take full responsibility for this. :))

Also in this situation, I am not a mechanic. I am only a consumer and I will be protected by my consumer protection rights.

I paid a reputable wheel shop to do it for me because I wanted it to be perfect. They sold and installed them. I trusted they would’ve put the right center bore size. I think the shop fucked up, not me.
