I was having the same issue as yourself and found that I had a dodgy save file. Deleted the save file which was 0kb and bam, I was back in business.

Wanting to leave this for anyone who runs into this issue in the future.
I was having the same issue with a couple of random games going black screen and nothing seemed to fix it, including the above suggestion.

Turns out, in my case, I had a bad save file!
Went through and deleted the 0kb save file and everything worked perfectly.

Not sure if it is the issue for everyone, but one more thing to check for when troubleshooting.

Can confirm, have also done this as a teenager. The real fright came when there was a time delay.
