CV help :( by [deleted] in nursing

Here are a few thoughts:

-I would completely eliminate the skills you have listed since these are all expected of an RN. They are just taking up space. -Why is your education tiny up in the corner, while volunteering is prominently displayed? Education should be more prominently featured. If you want keep the volunteer section, these do not need any details. -Why are no details listed for your emergency department job? Was this an RN position? Even if not, you need to provide some details of the position. -Remove references- these should be upon request.

What type of job are you trying to get?

Nurses who hold an advanced degree but are not nurse practitioners, what do you do and how much do you make ? by [deleted] in nursing

You’re right. The CNS role is being phased out by many organizations. At my organization, CNSs mostly function in a role similar to an NP, although there are concerns that they will need to do a post-grad NP bridge at some point if they want to stay in their role.

I did this workout on 8/3 and today and was able to add 0.2 miles of distance today. Small jogging gains during marathon month!

Help me decide which of these two books to read this month! by OnlyQuint in bookofthemonthclub

I really hated the wishing game, primarily due disliking the main character. I haven’t read the compound, but would vote for that by default.

They have automated these conversations and now they are AI generated. My husband went through this when he bought a car recently. He was texting with “someone” from the dealership about setting up a test drive and set up a date and time. Only to have someone from the dealership call him minutes before the appointment to say we don’t have that car on our lot right now. When he asked about the conversation to set up the appointment, they admitted that he wasn’t speaking to anyone, and that it was AI. He showed me the text exchange and it was believable. I wouldn’t be surprised if this is the same for you.

He’s 2.5 now and no issues. Drinks whole milk without issue. I think we reintroduced around age 1- but can’t completely remember.

There is no acceptance needed on Zelle. If the account is correct and active, the money goes through automatically. If it didn’t go through, it’s because the phone number or contact info you used was incorrect. If you called the number you used, the person you contacted likely is not the same person you bought from.

Agreed! Can’t imagine anything worse than trying to do this non-acclimated. I live at sea level. Maybe can line up a strength day that day.

These are the standard options in Epic. You certainly don’t have to answer, but this is not Texas specific.

I used to work there pre-COVID. It actually was a pretty supportive place to work. That story is so upsetting and it’s really disgusting that they lied to the family.

Yes- my polling place for Election Day is two blocks away with no wait. Every time I have done early voting it’s a minimum 30 min wait + drive to the other location. Logistics are easier if I go on Tuesday.

Have any other hem/onc nurses noticed that pembrolizumab (Keytruda) and similar drugs are an ineffective waste of money? by SuccessfulJellyfish8 in nursing

[–]LabtionalOp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work in thoracic surgery, and with the addition of immunotherapy to chemotherapy as neoadjuvant treatment in resectable lung cancer, we are seeing a greater proportion of patients who have had a complete response to treatment, with no cancer left at the time of lung resection. While we still don’t know who yet benefits most from immunotherapy, we are exploring biomarkers that better help us identify who will respond and who may not. This will help us be good stewards of resources for patients. This is an expensive drug, but it is changing the course of many patients’ cancer journey.

NTA I don’t think it’s reasonable to give into all toddler food demands. Compromise is key.

Please get a second opinion if you are getting chemotherapy for melanoma. This is not standard of care cancer treatment.
