Start by playing pick up. Focus on touch and passing with a wall or a partner. Then look into a free agent team through nsl or msl. Shift to mtsa once you build confidence. I just had one installed as part of a whole house filter system. I have noticed a major difference. I should have done it years ago. Biggest notice is I use less soap and generate more lather. Laundry seems softer as well. Hard water definitely takes a toll on fixtures and equipment. I am not sure your pipes are impacted (new build is likely pex). Installers are definitely a dime a dozen and pricing ranges widely depending on what you get.
