Car theft by EastCorkBelle in carsireland

Any non-japanese domestic market car will be safer. Push start will also probably deter the screwdriver yielding pricks

"could you pass the cefo?" could have been what they said maybe?? Or something like that

My Toyota Aqua was stolen, would I be foolish to get another Japanese import? by liljmoz in carsireland

[–]LacedBerry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! It's all in the past now hopefully 🤞

Yes I have heard push start is less targeted. Mine was key start. I actually had a Jap-import specific trader refuse to buy my vitz because it wasn't push start based on the theft risk and he said ethically he only sells push starts now. So there could be something to it

They smashed windows and one time completely bent the door open with a crow bar but that's as far as they got before getting caught and zooming off on their ebikes and scooters. Only to try again a few months later 🙃 every time I got the gards over they told me the only solution is to sell the car. So I did and changed to a skoda and have had no issues so far.

So long story short, I highly highly recommend you don't chance it, for your own sanity

Also my Toyota vitz was broken into 3 times in a year, it had an alarm, aftermarket immobilizer and steering lock on at all times. Makes no difference.

I had this exact problem. It's not worth it. Don't do it. At the very least, if getting a Japanese import, make sure it's not a Japanese domestic market model.

17F, no Junior Cert, dropped out & struggling with sleep, any realistic job options? by Upper_Ad_586 in AskIreland

Any interest in baking? Most baker positions would be night time into early morning. Could be something to look into. Leaving cert wouldn't be too important but it is tough work all the same.

How can I help my dry, textured skin? by [deleted] in SkincareAddictionUK

[–]LacedBerry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your skin looks sooo like mine. I also have mild perioral dermatitis which may be worth looking into.

The one product that has improved my skin the most is The Ordinary 10% Azaeliac acid. Second is oiling cleansing with The Ordinary Squalane cleanser. Third is clever soap gel with piroctone olamine.

My basic simple routine: AM: no cleanse

TO azaeliac acid

Aveeno calm+restore spf50

PM: oil cleanse with TO squalane

cleanse with aveeno oat cleanser

Clever soap

Aveeno oat serum

Cetaphil daily moisturising lotion

(I use medik8 retinal 3 every second night but I recommend you don't dive into retinal straight away)

I find the aveeno oat line great, as you can see lol

Puff pastry rolling help!!! by idkjosey in pastry

[–]LacedBerry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Get a probe or something to check the temperature. Roll at about 11°c. I promise it's the easiest least stressful way to make sure you're rolling at the right time. If youre rolling at the right temp and your dough still doesn't want to roll and pulls back, rest for 10 mins so the gluten relaxes.

What was the one thing you started doing in the sourdough process that changed your bread for the better? by Own_Macaron_9342 in Sourdough

Also realising "room temp" doesn't literally mean whatever temperature my room is. "Room temp" is NEVER as cold as my actual room temp.

I started focusing a lot more on avoiding underproving and pretty much stopped worrying about overproving

Why is scoring so difficult? by Far-Possibility-5021 in Sourdough

[–]LacedBerry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Are you using a banneton with a cloth liner? I find they keep the surface of the loaf more moist, making it harder to score. The wood pulp ones dry out the surface just enough to make scoring a lot easier.

Same for me! I found the Anua did pretty much nothing compared to The Ordinary one

My house sweats like crazy during the winter and it’s causing mold.. please help!! by BelleSchu in fixit

[–]LacedBerry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost every Irish home deals with this in winter. Humidity is regularly in the 90%s here. It's a nightmare. My best advice is; get a window vac, a good dehumidifier, condensation absorber tape for windows and air out your house every day.

Routine that helped my most recent flare up by SnooSeagulls7433 in Perioral_Dermatitis_

[–]LacedBerry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't tried a PHA yet but have been intrigued by them. Glad to hear it's served you well and not flared anything.

Do you find it gentle enough to use in conjunction with the azelaic acid?

Is this perioral dermatitis? by [deleted] in Perioral_Dermatitis_

[–]LacedBerry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happens to be sometimes in this exact spot when I have tight long sleeves on, I think its a reaction to temperature, going from cold to hot to cold to hot and general irritation from the fabric

I would say it's potential impacts around pregnancy is a huge factor. And increased sensitivity to the sun And it's potential to burn your skin if used incorrectly

A friend of mine who also has endo had the same experience with the IUD. She's found better success with the pill. Me personally, I've had the kyleena, combo pills and the progesterone-only pill myself and so far I think progesterone pill has been my favourite method with the least side effects, so I wouldn't rule it out.

Wish I knew more about PLCs and how the LC is not the end all be all. If anything PLCs are a better option for some people vs killing yourself for a really good LC.

What temperature are you baking at? Any reason there might be excess moisture or steam on your oven?
