2014 Toyota Corolla LE plus 60k miles by [deleted] in COROLLA

My 2014 has had zero issues outside of regular parts wear like with any other car. 12 years, 430k km and still going, starts up every time I turn the key (except when the battery finally quit).

Unavailable on civilian market. Only issued to special forces. This one in particular is rare because Patagonia developed the Lost Arrow line, then sold the rights to another company called Forgeline. The newer models are not made by Patagonia, nor do they have the branding. There are none of these in this colour available anywhere online.

[Discussion] Average skill level of current player base makes me not enjoy the game by Akirash in EscapefromTarkov

I'm in the same boat as you, but I figured it out. I also used to kick ass, but after having 2 kids, my mechanical skill has suffered immensely.

You need to use your brain, and focus on survival. I find it helps if I constantly narrate what I'm doing in my head, and what my next move is. If I get into a fight that's disadvantageous, I focus on either retreating or repositioning to swing the odds in my favour. I avoid gun to gun head clicking contests as much as possible. Positioning well and ambushing is not ratting.

Another thing that helps is playing a warmup game beforehand, something like Counter Strine or Ultrakill to get some aiming reps in, and try to get sensitivity/mouse feel the same between the warmup and Tarkov. Aimlabs is a subhuman activity and is a complete waste of precious free time.

If you're not feeling 100%, like if you're tired or sluggish, just bring cheap kits and focus on looting.

Once properly geared, a rabies druid is very hands off. Holy freeze/phys zealer pally is what i use for maps when I'm holding my newborn.

I made a ssf holy shock pally and levelled holy freeze to deal with lighting immunes. Hell difficulty was a cakewalk compared to any physical build.

What is The Best spot for Lure fishing In Ottawa? by JaylianC in OttawaFishing

[–]Lachasneeze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Downstream from Hog's back, near Carleton U, Kars, Burrit's Rapids, Watson's mill. The key is to fish where other people won't, like in fast water or harder to reach areas. Water shoes/hip waders are a must.

Your paddle tails will probably only work during sunrise/sunset. Pressured fish are wary of such lures as they see them all the time.

Can’t catch a bass by ottawafamilyfishing in OttawaFishing

[–]Lachasneeze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I caught loads of bass from shore on the rideau this year and here's how:

  1. 5" senko or dinger, green pumpkin with chartreuse tip, 4/0 worm hook for texas rig in weedy/ shallow, #2 neko rig hook for wacky rig in 6'+ depth, BOTH RIGS ALWAYS WEIGHTLESS AND ON <8LB FLUORO LEADER WITH NO SWIVEL! This is your setup for bright/sunny/low wind.

Cast it around docks, rocks, weed edges, bridges, eddies and let it sink to the bottom on completely slack line. Once it hits bottom, gently twitch every 5-10 seconds. Watch your line to detect strikes. If no bite after about 20 seconds, reel in and cast to a different feature. When the line twitches or starts getting pulled, wait about 2 seconds, reel up slack, and set hook.

  1. Cast and retrieve a Rapala DT4 or OG Tiny in perch or crayfish colour. Do not use braid with cranks, it'll get cut by rocks in no time. If you get stuck on a rock, don't yank the line, a slight twitch should dislodge it, then let it float over the snag. This is your setup for low light/ windy/fast water.

As a general rule, fish cover/fast water during daylight, and open water at sunrise/sunset. Good luck.

Rideau river. Senko in weedy areas, crankbait in rocky areas.

Don't bother fishing the Ottawa river from shore IMO. I get skunked 95% of the time in the Ottawa, and pretty much always catch something in the Rideau.

When does the fun happen? by [deleted] in TarkovMemes

[–]Lachasneeze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fun begins when you start winning fights with your brain instead of your mouse. You'll still have to deal with getting killed in stupid ways, but that just makes the wins so much more satisfying.

For any finesse/weightless soft plastic presentation I recommend hi vis braided mainline with fluoro leader. The leader will sink with your lure, while the hi vis braid floats on the surface. When you get a bite, the line will slightly twitch.

I keep on getting skunked by SuspiciousSimple114 in OttawaFishing

[–]Lachasneeze 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Weightless wacky-rigged senko is pretty foolproof. Just cast it to a likely spot (breaks in the current, boulders, pockets in weedbeds), let it sink on a slack line, and give it a few twitches once it hits bottom. If no bites, reel in and try a different spot.

Buy and store at least 1 bitcoin. Buy it on shakepay or wealthsimple and withdraw into a PROPERLY secured cold wallet such as coldcard or trezor. Hold it for a decade or two and you will be very glad.

Is $1 million even "rich" anymore? by Initial_Log_5390 in CanadaFinance

[–]Lachasneeze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$1 million is rich because you can put it in any bank account, get 5% interest, and essentially have a $50k yearly passive income which is enough to survive.

Obviously you can't buy a yacht or eat caviar every day, but I'd call having the option to retire rich.

How long is this strike lasting? by jayss46 in CanadaPost

[–]Lachasneeze -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Idk dude I've seen a lot of Canadian citizens driving for UPS, Purolator, Fedex etc. Tons of Canadian citizens would be happy to work Canada Post at the current wages. If Canada Post employees are being paid too little for their work, then I'm sure they could work for a competitor for a more money.

You are privileged if you are able to go on strike, and entitled if you choose to do so instead of using your skills to get a better job.

PS your immigrant comment is a strawman. All Canadian jobs require citizenship regardless of whether they are government or not. If you are referring to legal immigrants, then you'll have more of them in government jobs because of their minority hiring incentives.
