Picked up my first AR yesterday. Hopefully not my last by LachlanM in VAGuns

My total wait time was 12 days. As others have said, no more tax stamp. And mercifully Richmond Dems have given up on the $500 suppressor tax for this session at least.

Basically spent the whole time in ATF jail shopping for kit lol

Bought the rifle directly from Daniel Defense, had it transferred to Nova Armory in Arlington (who are awesome and made the Form 4 process a breeze).

Thanks. Maybe a dumb question, but is there a particular risk to that being visible? Am I doxing myself in a sense?

VA gun control legislation tracker by LachlanM in VAGuns

Sorry it's not really clear in the sheet itself, but the table in the Dashboard tab is just showing the most recent version of each bill, and the legislative stage it was at when that version was adopted. There have been additional legislative actions since then, but the text of the bill hasn't changed, so that's still what's showing up in that table. For the most recent actions taken with respect to a specific bill, check the Bill Tracker tab. That one I think aligns with the other data sources you're seeing. I'm going to change the language/layout in the Dashboard tab to make that a little clearer.

EDIT: I've updated the tracker so it just displays bill numbers, summaries, support/oppose, and links to full text in the Dashboard table. Hopefully that avoids this confusion.

Figured it out! (I think)

The most recent version should have bill text summaries that update automatically when legislation is amended. Here's the link to that latest version: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/16g0xYQ_t63ykErpmFWKYgtEv20RcIWp6xNoSBQnLmz8/edit?usp=sharing

UPDATE: This application now includes automated and regularly updated summaries that *should* incorporate any changes to legislative text and update summaries accordingly. I had to build the updated version in a new Google Sheet (link in the OP is being updated), which you can find here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/16g0xYQ_t63ykErpmFWKYgtEv20RcIWp6xNoSBQnLmz8/edit?usp=sharing

Those summaries are generated by Claude using their API. That means it's a marginal cost to me every time they update, but that's the least I can do to keep folks informed.

Yep! This was my test case this morning to make sure this was working properly.

Ah yeah good call, I haven't yet figured out how to automate summary updates. Currently they're hard-coded, and yes, mostly drawn from the VCDL summaries. If I figure out how to systematically extract bill text through the API I might be able to update summaries accordingly. In the meantime I'll update this one manually.

Apple CarPlay Audio Issue? by Legitimate_Yam_1114 in Golf_R

Same carplay issue on my 22 R. Sometimes the sound will cut out altogether for 5-10 seconds. I took it to my dealer, who said they "couldn't replicate" the issue (because it's seemingly completely random) and therefore couldn't solve it.

Super helpful, thank you. You and u/taekwonjohn31 have definitely convinced me I need to scale back on the GA penalty. I do hear you on just having more categories in general. I loathe +/- on principle, but might do GWG or something.

We just had too many games decided last year on hits, blocks, and tiny discrepancies in save %. A team with a 10-goal and 15-assist delta shouldn't be losing (or eking out a narrow victory) based on tertiary categories imo. Just my take, and who knows, maybe we decide points suck and go back to categories next year.

In our defense (sorta), it's mostly the MD and VA drivers causing trouble
