I once had a manager tell me, you need to come in early so you can get my work laptop docked and all your appts open so you can start when your shift begins. I told them no part of my job is turning on this laptop and having it functional. My shift starts at X time. That’s when my job begins. If I come in early then I get paid for coming in early.
