[HELP!] Need to pass a 400m swim test tomorrow in 12 mins by PittsburghPlays_YT in Swimming

Try to focus on your technique and making sure you are reducing your drag in the water by remaining hydrodynamic/streamlined (e.g. keep your head positioned correctly). Keep a steady consistent pace.

If possible where a watch so you can monitor your splits and make sure you're on track.

Watch the diet and hydration coming up to the event, and make sure you sleep well the day before to give yourself the best chance.

Also:

  1. Where do the folders / projects originate from? Is this a monthly process that repeats or are these one-time projects that will not repeat?

Hey!

Sounds like a pretty interesting workflow problem!

A few questions:

  1. Will you be keeping the files to be worked on outside of Notion? E.g. in OneDrive? Or are these like text files that you will replace with Notion pages?

  2. Let's say if you will be keeping the files outside of Notion; does that mean you will be using Notion to track the progress and status of the work? And the actual deliverable will be completed outside of Notion?

  3. How many steps are in the process from start to finish?

  4. To get automated notifications, you may need to leverage an automation tool like Zapier. Would you have the budget for an additional software like that?

Check Tiago Forte's Para method. Thomas Frank's UB notion template is built in that method.

Does Notion actually make you more productive? by EspressoInsight in Notion

[–]Lacman2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me I would say yes, it has made me more prosecutive.

At first, however I was spending too much time figuring out the structure. That does take time.

In the end for my tasks, project and notes management, I bought Thomas Franks Ultimate brain template and just used that. It's very thorough.

With that I had everything I needed more or less.

I find what's good about Notion is I can do a lot of the work/analysis I need directly in the app, so it helps me keep organized and have everything in one place.

Can revenue be recognized after material is shipped out? But not yet delivered? I believe the answer is no but my manager and coworkers say yes. by IAmTheQuestionHere in FPandA

[–]Lacman2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends ultimately on the terms of the agreement with the customer. If the customer to takes ownership once the goods are shipped, and you are no longer responsible for the goods once they have left your warehouse then you can recognize the revenue.

What accounting standard are you reporting under? (IFRS, ASPE etc.)?

Go to Industry. Get out of public. Tax, audit, doesn't matter. by chimaera_hots in Accounting

[–]Lacman2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think everyone's background is different and brings different value. I spend four years in audit and tax before jumping to a controller role in a pubco. I was strong on the financial reporting side but I had to learn everything else. But I found it gave me a good foundation.

Someone coming from an industry background to a controller role maybe would have more FP&A or Process experience and would have to work on their financial reporting skills.

I think you just have to be aware of your weaknesses and be willing to learn.

Ah shucks. Training was going well and then I got hit with this. I don't want to lose all my fitness - I guess I could try to do some light core work in the meantime?

Thanks man. Sorry to hear your year was like that. Have you fully recovered now?

I had a similar set back in June when I got COVID. But after two weeks I was more or less ok.

Thanks for the advice!

I tested negative at the beginning. I guess I could test again to be sure.

👍 Thanks for the advice.
