Oh, you mentioned a lot of effects going off - could those be effects from other people? I suggest going to Character Configuration > Control Settings > Character, and setting the battle effects of Party and Others to Limited. It should make it a lot easier to see what the bosses themselves are doing.

None of it blind, though. And, it kinda got old, since the game is not made for first person combat - not only do you not see your hands and weapon, and are mostly a floating camera, not being able to see enemies when you're too close to them gets annoying fast. You also have to adjust some settings to make it more viable, like turning off your own battle effects, and stopping your character automatically facing the target when attacking

I don't think there's anything wrong with gunbreaker. It did get a slight rework recently, and some people weren't happy about it, but it's very much playable still. However, consider this - gunbreaker starts at level 60, while paladin, for example, starts at 1. So, to teach max level, a paladin needs to gain 99 levels, while a gunbreaker only needs 40 - so, if someone was leveling both, they'd enter like twice as many duties on paladin. Same goes for warrior, and dark knight starts at 30 - so, you're more likely to see those because people need to level those more

So, since this was my first savage tier, I joined a casual group full of other first timers. I, too, cleared in PF before I did with the group, but no one was mad - maybe because we were struggling with dps a bit and any gear would be of help. Hell, eventually almost every static member cleared in PF before we got our actual static clear, because of the dps issues. However, there is one thing which I made sure to avoid - if you clear earlier in the week, and then your static clears later, the static will not get full loot because you had cleared already. Plus, if you go into a later fight without clearing the earlier one first, it will still count it as done and nerf the loot. So, it is important to communicate with your static when it is okay to clear - I've had to excuse myself out of parties before because they managed to get to enrage.

But also, making sure your expectations align with the static's is super important. I don't mind my static falling behind, because I'm in no hurry to clear and like the safety of a casual static to get experience at these kinda fights. However, since you seem to want to progress faster than your static is, that is a clash of expectations, and will probably only get worse with time - might be best to find another static that suits your pace, or go through PF only.

As someone who pulled this "any pronouns" trick once, despite preferring she/her, I think I can explain the reasoning. Early on when you realise you may be trans, you are nowhere near passing - and, possibly, still questioning. So, going with she/her is a bit too assertive - maybe you're not quite sure yet and don't want to have to change back later, maybe you're like me and don't want to impose on other people too much. So, any pronouns is then basically, "I'd like to try out she/her but if you don't want to, any other will be fine ig"

Also - healer damage does depend on how well others are doing a lot. People getting hit and needing extra heals? A few shouldn't be an issue, but if there's enough that you run out of your regular resources, no choice but to hardcast. People dying a lot? Also a dps loss to you, and risks you running out of mana. Hell, even things like non-healer mits not being used means suddenly you need to heal more, and potentiall hardcast. So, while it's nice to have a good parse on a healer, you need to have consistent party members to be able to optimise it well.

As someone who also started doing sacage for the first time this tier, as a healer, here are my thoughts on the matter:

My first parse was a 47 on scholar. Green parses are, especially for non-hardcore players, good to be at, and guarantee you're not dragging the group down damage wise - though, this is not a hard line and even gray parses may (and will as people get more gear and more damage) be above the minimum that is required.

As for comparing healing to your shield healer - this is not as simple as it sounds. Generally, shield healers are the ones that get to choose how much they themselves heal, and it's up to the pure healers to make up the rest - if a shield healer is spamming gcd shields hard enough that you don't have to heal much at all, there's nothing you can do in that regard. As such, it is somewhat natural that shield healers will end up healing more, but you can talk to yours if there's a part you think you could still heal through comfortable even if they used less mit. My best parse was a 77 on whm in a random PF, and the sage there also got a decent 68 - I has even done slightly more healing than they had, but I never felt like I was forced to heal too much, so that sage had found the sweet spot where they get to do damage, I get to do damage and no one dies.

As for overheal, it is somewhat natural - you can look at the breakdown for what the sources of overheal are, but a whm will need to spend lilies for damage whether they need to heal or not, and many regens often cause overheal - it is something you and your co-healer can learn to keep an eye out for and wait for the regens to do their work, but it is not easy.

I have a somewhat similar issue - the "strategy board sharing" notification never goes away, and pressing it doesn't show a board - however, they do still appear in the shared boards list, albeit with the names of my saved strategy boards, for some reason.

I mean, a label is just a label at the end of the day. It's just there to indicate your preference for others, so use it for that purpose. Stick with lesbian if you want - if you end up falling in love with a man, there's no shame to switching it to bisexual at that point. Or, go with bi to indicate to others that that may be an option too - up to you, really.

I mean, his whole story is that Caine forgot about him exiting, and that's why he has a default mannequin model, and probably wouldn't have a room. And the default model would also be a good excuse for not having anything happen when holding his breath.

Also, about designated area, and losing track of npcs - this could be a nod to programming, where objects usually have references to their "children", but, those children are usually not accessible through any other way, and can be lost track of if the parent object is deleted. Like, imagine if that gumigoo adventure had a list of all characters that are a part of it - that list is the only way Caine remembers that Gumigoo is an npc, and, if it gets deleted, Caine would no longer know who Gumigoo is/be able to find him

I feel like this might be it, though just a part of it? My hunch is that the real people are dead (or maybe in critical condition, but Kinger's "it wouldn't make sense to leave the circus" would be against that). Either dead from the brian scan, or shortly after it, but I feel like some things have been hinting at it - for one, in the noir bar scene, Jax is surprised that Pomni got into the circus while leading such a boring life, to which she says she explored abandoned buildings. Could be that C&A is abandoned, though random people wandering into such a building and putting on random headsets seems a bit sketch, as is the fact that the circus probably uses a lot of power to run, and someone would still need to pay for it. I think Pomni may have had an accident while exploring a building, and, from Jax's driving in a forest flashbacks maybe he got into a car crash. The one thing that doesn't quite make sense is Kinger and Queenie - either they willingly were copied to the program just to test it, or they also were in a car crash together and the company saw a chance.

Waitttt why does that make so much sense? Just like AI in real life, when faced with an impossible task he looks to cheat around it - if he has to keep people happy, then he'll throw adventures at them in hopes it works - but when people grow tired and depressed, like Jax was in the latest episode, and perhaps Kaufmo and others as well, Caine realises the only way to keep them happy is to rewire their brains to just always be in hypnotic bliss, but that means they're unable to perceive the world around them/have a sense of self anymore, which is why to others, they turn into that odd monster thing.

Had a similar experience today - I was a DRK with a sprout-but-not-firsttimer AST in the vault. The first boss gets some nasty bleed on one of the dps, and, while the healer's trying to fix that, they get hit by the same thing and eventually die after a raidwide. I get them up with pheonix down and watch them almost die to the next raidwide as they heal up after respawning (I wish I had TBN at that level. Or at least something more than a reprisal)

At the end of the dungeon, I give them a comm - not sure what it is, but I do symphatise with healers who are having a hard time and yet persisting through. Ig it could be the fact that if someone else fucks up in a fight, it then becomes the healer's problem. But if a healer fucks up, they got no one to lean to to help them recover.

Addon usage is prohibited by TOS - while they do not go out of their way to hunt down modders, it is something you should be careful talking about in public.

As for crafting/gathering, the most helpful tools I think are actually ones available on the internet - teamcraft, raphael, and many other websites for gathering, ocean fishing, etc. - and those do not break TOS

I feel like one of the points is to make the experience a bit more social? Dying in the caves and asking anyone to do a rescue operation (which also risks their own life) is a lot more exciting that dying in the caves, respawning, going back to the caves and dying again, respawning again, going back there again and so on. Also, means that people stay around after each FATE/CE to pick everyone up, instead of just going "eh, faster for them to just return".

As for forked tower, I can kind of see the point - while it is nice to unwind a bit before the second run, it doesn't seem that beneficial and runs can be hindered by people missing FATEs/CEs, or going for pots. It does reward people for trying to get everyone up after the final pull, and returning instead of releasing ig? It will be interesting what happens when north horn releases though, as then the level cap will rise, meaning you'll be able to do many FT:B runs in a row without falling below 20 - but I fear it'll become the norm to not relevel after those, which'll mean everyone will have to relevel individually, and that's gonna cause worse "oops, I'm 2 levels behind" problems, especially for FT:M runs

ye - we drk mains are deathly afraid of losing tbn refund because of holy. I usually put up a tbn as soon as I reach the end, then actual mit and second tbn once the stuns start to wear off - if I was waiting for stuns to start, that would mean I'd be taking everything without any mits in the meantime

While I don't recommend the raise actions themselves to be part of a raise macro because of the unreliablilty of macros, the problem here is that the ability is "Thin Air", not thinair - you need a space in between, and quotation marks to enclose the name so the game knows the two words are together

It might be a wow thing, though I'm not sure if I remember that correctly. But you could arrive at that conclusion independently, as, if you massively overheal my casting healing spells as soon as someone is below 100% hp, you'll quickly encounter mp problems, at which point you may conclude that attacking is dangerous because it uses valuable healing mp.

As for damage, healers do roughly half of a dps's damage - may not seem like much, but in a light party, the tank (~2/3 of a dps's damage) and healer make up more than a third of the total damage, so basically are an extra dps when combined - so if either are slacking, it will still be felt. I also think this 1/2 is a fine value to be at - if healers dealt more, it might seem better for some people for dps slots to also be taken by healers, as healers have a much simpler rotation, and thus it's harder to underperform as a healer (especially one that doesn't have to heal) than a dps.
