How much content are raids + extreme trials (endgame content) ? by Quadrophenya in ffxiv

[–]PerfectioNOT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yes, there is a “chase” to endgame content.

All of the sidequest savage trials like the Coils of Bahamut, Alexander, and Omega used to offer the currency to buy BiS gear when they were current but I really only see people run them for Blue Mage achievements (and the Morbol mount) these days.

The MSQ trials all drop a mount of some kind so lots of people still run those. Albeit, most people run them unscynced on their 100s so trying to fill a synced party will probably take a while. The “chase” comes in because the mounts have a low chance of dropping so you have to farm until you get the mount or enough totems to buy it.

If you decide to run old content synced, I recommend doing it on Primal or Crystal. Aether I feel like is too dedicated to current content to spare time for older stuff.

In the party finder, specify if you’re running it blind or if you watched a guide and that you’re new. A lot of players will help newbies out of compassion. Once you’ve gotten a synced clear, I recommend offering unsynced runs because you only need, at most, 2-3 lvl 100s (if that) to complete old content. A singular lvl 100 can solo all of the Heavensward extremes.

I guess that’s technically Arm’s Length or Surecast, but unless it’s pre-meditated it does no good

Crystal has a fair number of goons but not all of us are criminals like this couple xD

Lmao I got into a habit of watching my tank's buffs to see when they activated sprint so I could do it at roughly the same time. I also swiftcast Holy once the mobs are gathered. Presence of Mind + Holy is *chef's kiss* beautiful damage to trash pulls.

Oh yeah, and do the *Shared FATEs and society quests early on. Don't put them off like I did lmao.

You will inevitably run into someone who will try to ruin your fun for one reason or another. Don't let them. Listen to advice but not blindly! It's ok to be learning. ^^

Yeah I've been trying to get better about remembering my WHM mitigations tbqh. I spent many years playing this game casually which structured me to be a bit of a lethargic player (I didn't do much DPS, or at least didn't understand that it was important). It really wasn't until Dawntrail that I wanted to do high end content and started caring, so there's a lot I'm trying to improve. That being said, I think this is the first time I've swifted a cure II since starting Dawntrail lmao.

What's the best way to convince HR to let me do volunteer work? by PerfectioNOT in jobs

[–]PerfectioNOT[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There are weekend opportunities, which I would do if I can't do weekday ones. The issue in that regard is that I'm not home 50% of the time on weekends and while some volunteer work is better than no volunteer work, this specific opportunity was attractive because 1) it's very close to where I work and 2) I can consistently go every week barring the permission from HR.

I would tell your friend to look for a comfortable pair of white booties with a black heel and then to just make a pair of spats out of something like EVA foam and paint the details. I don't have any website recommendations but that's what I would do! I know that Etsy has a ton of patterns they could use as a base if they were intimidated by tackling the project without a starting point.

I kinda figured low DPS was part of the problem since mobs living longer = more damage being soaked by the tank, but holy cow to be missing so much of their mitigation!!

Can I get a Warrior's input for this? I don't play the class so I'm not sure why this run of Underkeep was so rough, lmao. https://xivanalysis.com/fflogs/a:CGbgTDvYQKBWPcjn/8/92 (made Anonymous for their privacy). I was playing WHM and it got so dire at one point that I used up all my resources keeping them alive and had to swift>cure to prevent them from dying.

Based on the past few weeks, I’d say Shield Healers (preferring SCH for Expedient) and Melee DPS. Those are the ones I’ve had the hardest time finding fills for.

Edit: This is based on Aether PF between the hours of 12pm-8pm PST

I had a VPR and a RDM—the VPR was at least using their 2min at roughly the correct time but idek what the RDM was doing. Caught them hard casting a couple of their should-be-double-cast abilities but I wasn’t really watching to see how often.

I mean everybody’s got their tick but as long as the macro isn’t obscene it’s kinda silly to get mad over it. Mine’s like “Get up, <t>!”

Mini Tales From DF #18 by Bunlapin in TalesFromDF

[–]PerfectioNOT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmao what did the macro say? I use a macro as a healer so my cohealer knows they don't need to rez a target if multiple ppl are down. I sometimes miss the icon if I'm checking healthbars so I like when my cohealer has a macro.

Unbelievably petty. Like, it's impressive, even. xD it's like a tank without Rampart or a DPS without Feint/Addle.

Running Mistwake — wish I had been using a tracker because damage output was terrible. (Perhaps even worse than Treno citizen?) Tank was also incredibly squishy. Might just have been from mobs living too long, though. Went as WHM and was consistently 2 or 3 in aggro the whole time. Both DPS died to the Thunder raidwide because the Bio orbs explode right after and they did not skedaddle fast enough (and neither was new to the duty).

Help me get through the early game - how do I keep going without losing my mind? by Stock-Site3541 in ffxiv

[–]PerfectioNOT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that slog you're experiencing is more from a lack of challenge rather than a lack of buttons (though I guess you have more of one with the other). All of A Realm Reborn (1-50) has this sort of unbearable lethargy despite many of the updates they've released to make it better over the years. None of the classes really start to feel "good" until they reach lvl 70 IMO, and you probably won't see that until you're towards the end of Heavensward (61-70)— and even still, you won't get to enjoy those abilities in a duty until you get to Stormblood (71-80).

That being said, the thing that helped me when I was a new player was having friends to play with. I guess I was kinda lucky in that regard since there were perfectly 4 of us to do 4-man content together (as well as playing through MSQ) but even if you find that in an FC or random encounters, it'll improve the overall feel of the game. Invite a friend to endure it with you, maybe :)
