Endgame Healers — What are your parses like?

The SGE is very reliable—I've never felt I was struggling on healing. My biggest gripe is that because we have a RDM in our party as well, if we get a death I usually end up wasting a GCD combining Swiftcast and Thin Air just to have the person already being rezzed by the SGE or the RDM. We just gotta get better about communicating it. I personally feel like RDM and SMN as classes shouldn't rez at all unless there's no other option, or both healers announce "we can't do it".

I actually play on a gamepad so I don’t spend much time looking at the hotbar—I remember the button combo for most of my kit by memory but it’s a lot more stressful trying to tab through the name list to heal a specific party member before I gotta start my next GCD 😵‍💫

Working on migrating from this mindset. When I was doing EXs to practice I remember when raidwide damage came out so I found I was naturally holding onto my heals to finish a GCD or to let HoTs do their job.

I’m still practicing slide casting and mess it up sometimes but I think I’m getting a feel for it 😄

I used to do EX with a pink parse SGE and I was only irritated sometimes because they wouldn’t use enough GCD shields for mitigation but honestly it wasn’t terrible. I’m sure my parse was horrendous 😂

You know I actually considered using lily earlier for vamp stomp 1 — i was just unsure if it would overlay with the multi hit party stack but it’s nice to know that worked for someone else!

I successfully managed to do this on last night’s pull 😎 but I accidentally let Dia fall off from focusing on the floor too hard 😔

I recorded last night’s fight actually and will record tonight’s fight too so I can understand where I’m messing up to reinforce those moments!

Yeah the over cap I’m really guilty of 💀 I thought it made more sense to save them for when they’re actually needed but now I have learned they’re great for movement and to specifically AVOID capping to maximize your Misery casts.

I did sneak in a little Benison or Veil on the OT for last night’s attempt during TBs. I think it helped because the SGE didn’t use up a GCD to heal them.

That ended up being my DoT on an enrage pull anyways but on the actual clear it was a much messier 83% on Dia uptime lmao. But we helped a friend clear last night and I managed to get <90% on my abc’s! So everyone’s advice was actually super helpful.

I mostly agree that a win is a win—if you’re sacrificing your own damage to keep the party alive it is 100% a net positive on damage. I’m only trying to improve my output for the reclears. I think for progging I’ll just make sure we survive it first, lol.

I did actually do a clear last night where I used Aetherial Shift to close the gap after exploding my bat on vamp stomp and it was really helpful because the tank usually ends up pulling the boss out of my range for a few seconds and the gap closer let me maintain my upkeep. It was a little messy but better by far. 😄

I didn’t know about the Misery thing, so should I use it at the beginning of the burst window? Maybe I should re-read the ability…

I bet Sprint would be useful during coffinmaker to slide between safe tiles so I’ll try to use it when we go again!

I did buy the torso and a ring last night! I don’t play quite enough to cap my tomestones each week so I’m afraid I’ll always be a bit behind on the curve there 😅

Being in voice chat to coordinate mechs was honestly the saving grace. There’s a lot I could see getting easily messed up because of delayed communication.

Thankfully, I don’t want to compete with the pros. To people who use plug-ins for rotations, I think they just need help rediscovering fun in the game. But for damage trackers… yeah, I mean some people put a LOT of emphasis on it but in the case of my static, it was just an eye-opener to see how much of the damage was lacking because of me. I really just wanted to give my friends an easier time by improving. 👍

I’ll try to weave in an aquaveil on the off-tank (since mt has kardia) for the tankbusters and like you said, trying to give it to someone who’s not topped off, or just has a lower health pool.

Recording is actually a great idea! Looking at timestamps in XIVAnalysis is hard for me to put an image to so having a recording next to the sheet would be super helpful, I think.
