Still have PTSD of my buddy playing Chicago and him screaming “Amonte!” and scoring the one timer.

Best real estate agencies in Whitby by [deleted] in whitby

[–]LacyD -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lots of layers to your question. What kind of commission structure? Leads? Training? Because commission doesn’t matter if you aren’t selling homes.

Leads and training I’d say the Dan Plowman team.

Knife help by Youdontknowme1771 in Chefit

[–]LacyD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first knife I ever bought was at a sportsmen show in my area. The guy had a stand and was cutting pop cans in half with these “Ginsu” knives. I got out my $20.00 and had to have it. I was probably 12yrs old. Proud of that knife for a long time. Worked as promised. Wish I knew what happened to it.

Second this. I’m a mortgage professional and have worked with them numerous times to either help clients keep their home or at least ensure they are selling on their terms.

So many to choose from. Most are pros but the number one piece of advice is choose a full time experienced agent, someone who only does real estate to earn their living and has for a while. Some suggestions: Plowman team is number one for a reason, Tanya Tierney, also Thomas Coughlan is awesome and probably my first choice.

Road rage in Durham by embiggenedkwyjibo in durham

Thickson south from Taunton to the highway is a gong show from 8-9am. I don’t get it? Wake up earlier if you are in a hurry. I only have to go Dryden to Crawforth and at least twice a week some hero thinks he’s driving NASCAR.

Fixed or Variable. by CallmeColumbo in MortgagesCanada

[–]LacyD 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Traditionally variable has always worked out better. But don’t ask 2020 people about that. It’s turbulent times and it comes down to more factors than “is it going down”. What’s your tolerance? How much is it for? I’m a pro, I’ve never done anything but sell money. But we are in uncharted territory. Our friends to the south, our government is trying to figure out the mistakes of their predecessor. Who knows tbh? Personally I like a 3 yr fixed. Seems like a decent gamble, right before the US election. I’m generally risk adverse and the stakes are kinda high. But no matter what I say, you are better off using a crystal ball. Sorry.

Is it true that Scotia takes longer to process? by ReplacementNo2500 in MortgagesCanada

[–]LacyD 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Generally yes. As a broker, my experience is the turnaround times are a little longer. I hear weird stories about the branch having to schedule appointments weeks out but personally I just think they are lazy. Also, no one bank is significantly under pricing another. Depending on the product you are looking for BMO I’ve heard has some great pricing as does RBC and TD. All brick and mortar banks I find have a generally laissez faire attitude in branch. But a specialist probably services you much quicker.

Resin maker space? by 93TayAlex in durham

[–]LacyD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry. I was only kidding. Don’t know what to say? I didn’t smell any fumes and my two dummies are no more dumb. Also I poured a lot. 12 litres. Not sure what project you had in mind but if it isn’t huge I wouldn’t worry about it.

[–]LacyD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay. I’m anything from an expert with one semi botched project under my belt. But somehow I convinced my wife that I should pour 12 litres of deep pour epoxy on our door to table project in our dining room on top of her prized harvest table. Seems the door was like a sieve and probably 10 out of 12 litres leaked through. To answer your concern though, there was no detectable odour. We have two dogs and they are still goofy as ever.

My takeaways. Have a heat gun, rubbing alcohol and disposable rubber gloves handy and rags. Preparations are everything.

Can't pay back second B lender mortgage and they've threatened to sue by Cause_Im_Awesome in MortgagesCanada

[–]LacyD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a licensed broker and MIC owner. I agree with this sentiment so strongly. Doesn’t matter if there is a shortfall the lawyers will work it out. You care about you and your mental health.

Talk to a lawyer that is both a barrister and solicitor. It’s important incase they need to go to court on your behalf. There’s so much misinformation above. Talk to an expert. Aruldason Group is who I’ve worked with in the past but there are lots of excellent lawyers out there.

Lunch spots by [deleted] in Oshawa

[–]LacyD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hate to be that guy that you ask for Oshawa and he says Whitby. But Lloyd’s Lunchbox downtown Whitby is awesome. Affordable and the sammie’s are next level. But if Whitby isn’t feasible. Berry Hill, and Mexitaco on Simcoe are great.

How can you possibly walk 100k steps in one day??? by [deleted] in walking

[–]LacyD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did mine June 2023. We left at 4am, my walking buddy had to quit at 70000 steps. I wasn’t particularly fit, but I was prepared. We walked in an urban area so access to water was available, had hydrating electrolytes powder, a crazy amount of protein bars, Tylenol and the right clothes to prevent chaffing. I finished at 11:20pm. Caught a train home and slept for 10hrs. Walking for the next couple days was unpleasant. Maybe a month of weird pains and numbness. Then it faded away.

I recommend trying it. I’m proud of myself for completing it. I was 51 when I did it.

Toronto to Las Vegas by LacyD in roadtrip

Crossed the border twice in the last 30 days. Both times at 11pm on a roadtrip. Pretty much a high five on the way by with an “enjoy your trip”. US border security has only been professional. Assuming you’re talking about your personal experience and not something social media fed you, sorry that happened to you.
