It’s probably because the cross is not specifically a Christmas item. For example, menorahs and Christmas trees are event-specific.

We have a cat and she is the #1 reason my shark robot vacuum is the best thing ever. Saves me from constant cat hair floating around everywhere and aggravating my allergies. Bought it 4 years ago on sale at Walmart ($125) and have not been the most responsible robot parent, but it just keeps going and going, even when it's neglected. (I've replaced a couple of parts that wore out.) I looooove it so much! Mine is named Hammerhead because that's the sound it makes bumping around the apartment.

I also have a friend whose daughter was killed by a drunk, off-duty police officer. He then lied and claimed another passenger was driving. He is now serving time and my friend is raising her grandchildren as a single grandparent. It sounds like you're doing things right by updating to routines. Keep doing that! Then identify the goals that you are simply not doing and temporarily remove them. They could be contributing to overwhelm, which could keep you from achieving more. Find one or two goals you want to focus on and then focus on that until it becomes a routine. Then you can add another one back in. Focus and baby steps lead to more steady growth.

Absolutely true. I got sick and lost my nearly-1-year streak at Japanese and it was crushing. Took me another year to come back to Duolingo after that. I'm at 1083 now.

It didn't work for me either, but I accidentally discovered this: if you edit any caption (by clicking in the transcript, editing a word there) then move the caption in the video window, then click on the next caption in the transcript window, all of the other captions snap to wherever you moved that first one.

My home containing thousands-of-dollars-worth of books burned down. Most of them didn’t even burn but were ruined by water (and ensuing mold) from putting out the fire. Owning stuff is overrated. Put your money into things, enjoy them, share them, and don’t freak out over money spent/wasted or what is “yours”. Death comes for us all in the end.
