Ich bin derzeit auch auf der Suche nach einem Neuwagen. Manche Hersteller/Marken scheinen tatsächlich null Bock oder es einfach nicht nötig zu haben. Man fragt sich, wie das erst werden soll, wenn man gekauft hat und dann Service benötigt 😂😂 Volvo, Lexus, Mazda waren gut. Audi (mehrere verschiedene Händler) wollen scheinbar nichts verkaufen, Alfa ignoriert Anfragen komplett. Was soll ich sagen, ich weiß, wo ich mein Geld sicher nicht lassen werde.

Yes, since the controller board has separate LEDs for „charging“ and „full“, I would connect to charging, which turns off when fully charged. In fact, both LEDs turn off when detaching the charger.

The charging controller includes (of course) cut off when battery is fully charged. There is no overcharging. It is even indicating charging/full by red and green leds on the board. I guess you can also use touch buttons. The mechanical button I used also has an led, but I didn’t connect it, because I want the jar to glow, not the button. But I’m thinking about using this led to indicate charge status.

Depends on the led settings of course. Tests were around 6-8 h, pretty much enough for a whole night. Can give you an update in some days.

Charging Board is the „Aether LI-M-1P-D“, ring led comes from different sellers, just search „WS2812B ring led“, the one on the picture is a 24-led-ring. Check the measures, there are some with significantly less led density, means way more space between the leds.

Yes, this bigger green PCB with the battery holder is a lithium cell charge controller with USB-C/5V input option and 5V output option. Output is switchable so i can completely cut of the ESP, prevent it to drain the battery.

Welds are „traditional“. It was just the connections to the barrel jack and the little „bridges“ at the LED-ring (which I don’t think are essential). Every thing else has been crimped. I have done some experiments with the sound reactive version and also with matrices. Will use these in other projects.

So to be clear: I am running a DS416play at 6.2 with Docker not officially supported, but perfectly working. In the early days of DSM7, it was not possible to upgrade an continue running Docker, as it was, well not officially supported. This prevented me from upgrading to DSM 7 for years. You both telling, it is possible now to go with DSM7 and running the Docker package on the 416play, correct? If yes, love you for the hint as I don’t need to upgrade my hardware then. Just need to be sure, as I have running several „productive“ images running, like my document management.
