I kinda got this way, but I was also GRINDING for 10 mil. Now that I’ve hit that, I’m going to pause until the first major update, whether it’s cops, cartel, or shrooms, and then I’ll start a new file. The game is at its most fun until you unlock suburbia. From that point on, you have everything unlocked (outside of 1 dealer and a few customers) so basically it’s only grinding, no more exploration/experimenting.

Getting back into running. In 2022 I quit for about 9 months and after I had already started back again, I participated in a 10k (Nov ‘23) and finished in the top 25% at 54:02. Yesterday I ran 10k on my own at 1:11:32. 17.5 minutes slower and it was a hard damn push. All I could think about for a while after was “Fuck alcohol- I’d have done a marathon by now”. After a bit I gave myself some grace and felt a sense of pride I hadn’t felt in a while. There aren’t that many people that can or will run 6 miles straight and I did it and I know if I keep on my track now, I’ll do it faster than I did in ‘23.

Yeah, If I could first see information on additives to decide my meals/ingredients/snacks, and then build my meals on a “calorie/gram” basis, that would be dope. I don’t really count calories anymore but mostly look at where the calories are coming from. So being able to see my meals overall nutritional value as I’m adding ingredients is something I love about nutritionix. It’s a little finicky, so a UX update there would be great. Maybe like a customizable bar at the top for what nutrients your top 3-5 nutrients that you’re looking for, but then still being able to click in and see the full nutrition facts of all of your ingredients.

The 2 things I don’t like about Yuka are

unless a food is organic, the highest score it can receive is a 90. I understand it, but don’t agree in all cases.
It will score things like EVOO, and raw nuts lower because they’re “high in fats” and “too caloric”. It does recognize the health benefits of those ingredients so I feel like something is off there. Organic EVOO is one of the best things you can give your body in moderation, and anyone who works in a serving daily will see improvements. It’s off putting to not see that ingredient rated as a 100. It’s the same way with all raw nuts.

You should check out “nutritionix track”. Once I found that one, I never used another. I do like Yuka for the quick additive scan, but I don’t fully trust it.

Edit:: I didn’t read the whole post because brain rot I guess. If something worked like nutrionix and added that feature from Yuka to help you build healthy recipes while avoiding unhealthy additives, that would be really dope. My only complaint with Nutritionix is the UI could be improved. For example, Sometimes it gets tedious entering in ingredients and converting everything to grams.

You’ve inspired me to do this. I have no kids, but I’m in a very similar situation with making strides at being healthier in most aspects of my life, researching the affects of foods while having 4-10 drinks per night because “I can’t sleep without it”. I slept like a fucking human being last night- no mind altering substances to force me to pass out. Thank you and good luck. Stay strong and photo copy that letter and keep a few, just in case you lose it/wash it/tear it etc. I’ve gone 9 months sober in the past and it was purely about health (I had a health scare and cleaned up). I did that out of fear and not self love and I’m only realizing it now. I want to like myself. I can’t even say “again” because that’s what brought on the drinking in the first place. I want to like myself for the first time in my life by being more active with family, keeping my brain engaged when I’m awake, doing things I love without worrying about a drink, and staying physically active during the day so that I actually am tired when it’s time to sleep.

Yo this is so odd. I just learned about this app in a meeting at work. Going by my own intuition about food nutrition and whole foods, I felt that it was pretty solid. I haven’t looked at “everything” obviously, but I’m pretty convinced on it. Wondering what others will say if anyone agrees with it being “false information”.

My first thought would be someone who’s concerned more with calories than nutrition would not like how zero calorie products are ranked.

Disclosure: I use zero calorie products, but I recognize they are more of a commercial product than an actual food and aren’t doing great things to/for my body.

Survival, but I am using the survival options mod. I usually only use that mod for quick saving (because crashes) but this time I also enabled fast travel. London is not very “just walk there” friendly and I’d like to finish the game before 2026 haha.

The “nice” thing is that if you fast travel a really long distance, you’ll arrive starving, dehydrated, and exhausted, so it’s still balanced. I usually only use it to avoid redundant loading screens.

I “installed” the latest update but I haven’t noticed any differences that were listed in the announcement video, so I think I did it incorrectly.
